Sin City, hands down.

Batman Begins being a somewhat close second.

ItsAlive75 12-14-2005 01:41 PM

Where's the Island? Where's the ISLAND?!?!?!

hehe, Michael Bay's a retard.

The_Return 12-14-2005 01:42 PM

Fantastic 4 should be on there, too. Maybe not the best, but a damn good movie IMO

slasherman 12-14-2005 01:43 PM

...I voted Sin C.

i have to confess i hated sin city and had this uncomfortable desire to giggle through the whole thing

but that's just me

You'd probably like it better if they had the alternate ending:

SPOILERS!!!!

Marv and Hartigan don't die, the bad guys see the errors of their ways and turn themselves in to the proper authorities, but not before all the movie characters join hands, the film turns to colour (ala Wizard of Oz) and they all buy the world a Coke.

END SPOILERS!!!

Of course, that was when the movie was called Jolly Sunshine Happiness...

hmm - uh, no. . . the problem i had with Sin City was that it showed exactly how different the medium of the comic book is from a film and in attempting to translate a comic story into film with such fidelity the film actually failed to be either a good graphic novel or a good film. . . the noirish elements of the film were fine - the silly looking graphics of superheroish poses looked, to me at least, quite silly

but, as i said, this is MY OPINION

I'm with you all the way on that one! The only reason it was enjoyable was because it had Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman in it.

i agree - the only thing that stopped me from fully loving it was the deep desire for it to have been a film version of Dark Knight Returns - that would be epic!

Marroe 12-15-2005 08:02 PM

dunununununu BATMAN! Or Sin City, I gotta think some. But I do love the Batman...

gotta have the perfect Old Bruce, though. Someone who's old, but who could still kick someone's ass. I'd go with Eastwood or Brian Cox

for a long time i thought it should be michael keaton - but then i saw him in that awful White Noise and said, "uh, no" (as if i actually have casting control?!?)

but, the one good thing in Sin City (in my humble and deeply flawed opinion) was bruce willis - I think he could play older.

clint is great, but i can't see him behind the mask

brian cox is a god - but my sense of the DKR batman was that he was still somewhat in shape (BC would need some serious training).

Still, i would live to see the "superman gets his ass kicked" climax on-screen (if done right)

Dismal 12-16-2005 12:47 PM

Definently sin city with batman begins closen behind, those are the 2 movies of 05 that just blew me away.
