I want to be serious for a moment.
Nothing we perceive has absolute value; reality exists, but beyond its inherent meaning to us as our physical existence, it has no significance outside of what we perceive.
I do believe the apathy is killing me. This place is no longer an extension of our personalities, but has become a warzone for the ideologue. Those who have been on the forum will appreciate that its audience is getting increasingly obtuse. Most people come here to find a social group, but others do it to leave behind the tedium of everyday socialization. This in itself is not a problem. What is a problem is how passive and obtuse people on here have become, in part because they deal with other people of the same nature. We literally cannot understand anything outside are own past immediate experience, we judge the world only through terms of our own ego and self-image. We have become blind to anything but what we are thinking, and our interpretive powers, already weak, are further weakened by a desire to not accept anything they we have not personally been championing. Seems that I may have contributed to this downward spiral, and I apoligize. We now return you to "cock slinging" :p Sorry cant be taken too seriously.:p :p :p |
Now that was deep.:)

Neither of you have been here as long as Creeper and I. There's a certain comraderie here between long time members, and we're ever ready to accept new members into the fold. However, there are some people that come around and cheapen the place up a bit, spammers being a big group.
Sometimes I wish it would run like a pirate ship with Zwoti and Bloodrayne as our captains. "A'hoy mates, there be treasure in the new Romero movie, arggg!" You know what I mean. Because our moderators are pretty cool people (I've seen bad), we're all pretty much equal and that's the key. No one should ever try to better themselves, by sharpening their wit at someone else's expense unless they're having fun and playing off one another. No one on this forum is any better than anyone else despite all of our own personal shortcommings. |

What makes me laugh
members who have been around for a long time who take it upon themselves to become the forum keepers or grandparents. Its cute but when you get yourself into this little group where all the nOobs postings are being scrutinised..like say.. you dont agree with a comment so you automatically assume its a personal attack on your well being..then the rest of the keepers are like ..wow..this bitch is attacking our freind..we can't have that..n they put in their boots .. and the beat goes on!! Or you have a fellow poster who you don't like personally n it doesnt matter what this person says or how he says it...you feel its a personal attack on you so you go running off to the mods n demand they get banned cos a certain nick is being mean..!!and why??because you have been here the longest n feel you can demand this right..when really..if all of the other posters were to leave or get banned n it just leaves you..then this place is finished.. ....disclaimer... stubbornforge is only being hypothetical so any resemblence to anybody ..whether being dead or alive is purely coincidental and must not be assumed that this is being personally directed at anybody in this forum. parental permission required. :D |

Since you brought up the noob thing.. Am I still classified as a noob?
I have been seeing the majority of stuff since cheeba as been here. But only really started to voice my opinions this year. ok. Back to Keanu over there. :) |
I dont think any of us are nOob really..
you have been in here longer so your more senior than me ..but we aren't really or we shouldnt be classed as bein nOobs as we maybe new in here..we are most definately not new to this posting or ph3rum wh3ring stuff.. I think it boils down to territorial stuff...or who has the most postings. 'god aint he a honey' but the one who gets my attention everytime is earl james. mmm...mm |

...And sometimes people post something about wishing for the best, and then leave it to the eventual circle it has to traverse.
Only an individual can decide for themselves what it ultimately right,no matter what AMAZING advice they receive. That's all we can do in real life as well, wish for the best, offer good, loving advice and then let the PERSON decide how to better themselves. An addict never (and I am only using this as an example!) quits for another-only when they are at the bottom of the abyss do they see how to get back out,and Why they need to get out. And hopefully on the way out of the chasm there are friendly hands to pull them along. |

LOL..
its going to be tough for the next 10 or so months... xlan has been officially announced http://xlan.co.nz/modules.php?name=Forums n this is where all my time and energy gets directed to every year... its one hell of an event but 'sigh' it only goes on for one weekend out of a year.. |
Re: I want to be serious for a moment.
People often tell me, : "You really should be nice, and people would accept you more." I don't want acceptance. I want my opinions accepted, and I recognize that most people will never accept them. I dont care about post counts or how long you have been here, thats all mental masturbation. In the grand scheme of things all that mean nothing.
This isn't to say that I do not genuinely care about the people I've met through the net, but that's incidental. My goal is to stimulate thinking with the opinions I have concocted, based on my own expiriences and soul searching. I am not interested in being popular. I am only here to sell the truth as I see it, even though it may be a tough sell at that. |

damn straight ..
personally..I post what em thinking ..sometimes i submit then think...'ooh fuck..come back come back..cos then i realised i wasnt thinking when i submitted..but then thinking hurts my brain so i try not to do it often. I respect others opinions n hopefully they respect mine but its not totally all true..cos for all tha to happen then it would be so boring..so in terms em thinking again n thats not good cos now my head hurts. note: stubborn just finished off 8 bottles of v energy drink so right now she is not in her right mind n she just typed all of that with her eyes shut real tight n her boss is yelling..;oh oprah..when your quite done..would you mind joining the workforce again'..lol |

I don't get on as often as I'd like sometimes, but I've always appreciated the spectrum of views and different posters HDC has to offer. Like a good movie, it's all about the characters. :) |

The way I read it was that his main goal is to tell people what he thinks about issues in a harsh manner (because being nice is fruitless) in hopes that people will embrace and accept his ideas... even though that's near impossible because nobody can (or will choose to) understand them. I'm not trying to be a dick about this, its just the interpretation I got out of it. |

That's better. :D |
I guess everybody has different motives but the only thing I really came here to do is discuss horro movies and maybe sometimes engage in a bit of off topic discussion. I have only 2 friends that are into the movies I am, the rest of my friends are great but I'm more likely to watch Football with them on Sun. then I am Masters of Horror. Anyway, I don't usually try to step into deep discussions unless I see something worth biting at. I feel sorry for anybody who comes here to leave it all behind because in essance this board is fifty percent of what conventional society is anyway. Oh well, years ago a friend of mine took a couple geltabs and smoked a bowl and I'm pretty sure we had a conversation similar to this involving bars. I just smacked him and told him to shut up and get to class because lunch was over.

Or in more simpler terms: net nerds need the safety of their PCs to truly feel "alive", such is their obvious and resentful detachment from society and "norms". |

I do think there is an interesting question here: why do people come to HDC? Learn about horror movies? insult each other? companionship? Stimulating discussion?
huh? |
