Feel The Urge To Report A Post?...In MOST Cases, Just Don't...
 

If you guys check out the 'online stats' from time to time, you will notice that someone is ALWAYS reporting a post...

Guess where these 'reports' go?

You think they go to Horror (the administrator)?

Guess again...

When a post is reported, it goes straight to the e-mail inbox of the moderators of the forums in which the posts are reported...

Not a bad system, I suppose...BUT...

Almost ALL of the 'reports' that I receive are banal, whiny and childish...And the vast majority are from 'guests' who obviously would not understand how we do things here...Apparently they have a HUGE problem with the 'loose way' that our forum is run...They see terrible 'indiscretion' in what WE would consider 'tolerance, and freedom of speech'...They do NOT appreciate our leniency...

I received a couple of reports this evening (which prompted me to address this)...They were both from spammers (members with less than 10 posts, who signed up here ONLY to pimp their shit), bitching about ElvisChrist, Sam, Mr.Sadistro, Bwind and others, for "Using profanity and insulting/attacking/harassing people"...Even demanding that we BAN these horrible offenders...

Note to spammers: When you come here with the sole purpose of promoting your music/movie/website/assorted shit, and have no interest in the forum except to use us as potential consumers of your crap...Many people here feel that WE have been insulted/harassed/attacked with unwanted, unsolicted bullshit...That causes some to become defensive, and even aggressive...

Note to 'guests' who are offended by the way WE do things here: Just don't read our forum...You cannot be offended by what you do not see...You are subjecting YOURSELF to these offenses...We are not about to change the way we do things here solely because some nameless, faceless person that we don't know, may not like it...It always makes me think, "Who the fuck do you think you are?"...Right after, "Who the fuck ARE you?"


So, anyway...Please do not make reports that contain or allude to any of the following (yes, I have received ALL of these complaints at different times):

1) So and so is being mean to me for no reason...(or because I was just trying to promote my stuff...)
2) So and so is using profanity...
3) So and so is vulgar and disgusting...
4) Why can't people be nice here?...
5) Everyone is always fighting here, why don't you do something about it?
6) This place sucks (You all suck)...
7) Why does everyone jump on me just because I don't know where to put stuff (correct forums)?...
8) So and so is following me all over, being mean, and won't leave me alone...Please ban him or make him stop...
9) Why are people always discussing sex here?
10) I thought this was supposed to be a HORROR forum...


I can tell you right now, that these types of grievances will be ignored (at least by ME)...

If you feel COMPELLED to report a post...Save it for pornography, racist shit, and/or other issues that would be considered offensive by EVERYONE/ANYONE and not just you personally...These types of things WILL be dealt with...

BTW...These things can be just as easily dealt with in a pm to a moderator...Rather than a 'reported post'...

I have seen people who should be banned, not get banned. I have seen people who shouldn't be banned get banned.

There is heavy favoritism on this site. Where they're is the "Beloved" members and the "who gives a fuck about" members. Which, you know what group I am in. :D I don't care about the groups, but I only want a fair forum. Where all members are equal, and not "Beloved" by mods or "Hated" .

I think bloodrayne & Zwoti are easily the best Mods and the only mods this site should have. The more people with control, the more controlled this forum will be. The more is censored and one sided.

Well...They must all be on 'invisible mode' because whenever I see someone is 'reporting a post' in online stats, it says 'guest'...AND...Once they get to my inbox...I do not recognize any of the names that they use to 'report a post'....

You can also see guest sometimes doing "moderating" duties...:)

In my defense, I don't use profanity in any of my posts. Doing so negates half my argument. I can make my point to spamming noobs without that. As for insulting, attacking, and harassing... well, that would be a matter of opinion. I don't resort to name calling. I obviously don't slam people asking about cameras, special effects, music, etc in the film forum and I don't rant at actual members talking about what films they're making. In retrospect, I've done nothing that would make me a candidate for banning. I obviously resent people who come here to only plug their films and am vocal about it. If that hurts their feelings...
