And Return! You HAVE to see Evil Dead 2. It's great. But don't rent, renting's a damn waste of money. I bought my copy of Evil Dead 1 and 2 for about $9 each, new at bestbuy. That's about 4 dollars more than borrowing a scratchy, smudgy one at blockbuster for a few days before getting sucked into all their small-print bullshit. |

Anyway, if you like horror, you'll like Evil Dead. If you're on this site as a joke just to piss people off, you'll probably think it sucks, like Mrs. Floyd over here. |
i clicked on it n couldnt believe my eyes....what is ash off??? please tell me your kidding..............BTW.....which is your fav evil dead film??

So wait... Did massacre get banned for something unrelated to this thread or was he really banned for just asking a stupid question about a movie that most of us believe he should have already seen?
If it's from something else, then I have no reason to say anything, but if he just got banned for asking what movie Ash was from, that'd be pretty fucking weak. |
Quote:
I was all for it - it was a useless waste of space .. i rarely think banning is in order ... in this case it was justified.. |

And oh well about the guy getting banned. at first I thought he was MM..........but MM had alot more going for him when it came to movies than that. |

But movie-wise, nothing beats the Evil Deads. |

I actually don't consider Army of Darkness part of the 'Dead' series. The only links are Ash and the Book of Dead. |
yeah i suppose...but if its the same char then its kinda the same film...although some people call it evil dead III but its called army of darkness....totally messes my head up at the end!! yeah i strongly suggest you get braindead...let me know what you think of it when u see it!

I couldn't fathom that someone would ask this question, but then I remembered that the last new Evil Dead movie came out in '93. So if someone were under about 18 years old, they probably missed those movies completely, unless they truly were interested in the genre.
As far as the Bubba Ho Tep discussion is concerned, I don't really think they can be compared. Don't get me wrong, I loved Bubba Ho Tep, and thought it was one of Bruce Campbell's greatest performances (other than Brisco County Jr.), but I would never in a million years compare it to the Evil Dead trilogy. The quick-cut editing techniques that are so popular these days (which are used in B.H.T. among about a million other films) were pioneered by Raimi in the Evil Dead series. Basically, I just think that the Evil Dead films were more revolutionary than Bubba Ho Tep (even though I do think B.H.T. was original itself, but it was based on a book, so the author of the book is original, not the director). |

Did you guys know that there was a prequel made for Evil Dead...It's called "Within the woods"
