What's In YOUR Wallet?

No...This isn't a credit card commercial...

I was just thinking...My mother carries around SO much crap in her purse...Do some of you guys even REALIZE how much stuff you carry around with you, everywhere you go, every day?...I know that females are much worse than males...But, some guys carry around an awful lot of crap in their wallets, too....

So anyway...Just for the sake of curiosity...

What is in your purse/wallet right this minute?

As for ME....I never carry a purse...That's what pockets are for...

In my pockets right now:

Driver's License
money
guitar pick

If I'm going out...I have the same things in my pocket, but I add an eyeliner pencil...

That's it for me...I don't even carry keys...We keep the keys to the vehicles in the vehicles...and we don't ever use the house key...hmm...I know that I have one, but I'm not even sure where it is...There is usually always someone home, and if we all leave, we usually aren't gone for long, so we don't lock the doors...Makes it a lot easier when you're carrying in groceries ;) (small town privileges...lol)

urgeok 04-18-2005 05:01 AM

bank atm card
esso extra card
drivers license
CAA card
visa card
health card
daycare access card
pictures of my kid
uncashed cheque for 50$
subway token
insurance papers
car ownership papers
$22.50 (thats odd because i never carry cash)
various receipts inc. one for a wireless pci ethernet card
2 'frequent flyer' cards for local used DVD places
asst business cards

thats it !
(because i recently cleaned out my wallet)

Preacher 04-18-2005 05:01 AM

Bloody hell you come up with some wierd things to talk about.

Anyway.......

I'm really borin in that respect. just got ID. cash cards, bit of loose change.

The two most exciting things i've got are a picture of my woman and an origami bird my ex gave me as a prezzie.

LOL...Well...We've pretty much discussed just about everything ELSE here...And I am prone to having random thoughts about just anything at all....You know, just pondering the true purpose of existence...Crap like that...lol

@ Urge...That still seems like quite a few things for a guy...But, not too bad

@ Preacher...You obviously know how to 'keep it simple' :)

Preacher 04-18-2005 05:13 AM

Yep.

you should have seen all the crap i weeded out ..
the thing about living in a city - is you always have scraps of paper with email addresses and maps to peoples homes ..

and you keep your receipts because almost every business in the city exists for the sole purpose of screwing you over.

That sucks....I'll take my small town any day....Of course I'm 10 minutes from Cincinnati if I feel a need for the 'bright lights, big city' ;)....I've got the best of both worlds...

I'm wondering how many purses/wallets will be cleaned out now...haha...You girls should try giving up those heavy purses...It's liberating :D

ShankS 04-18-2005 10:02 AM

wow  you guys certainly like carrying around loads of important ducumentation... is it compulsary? are you required to show all this stuff if you get pulled by the police?

don't carry anything like that, in case I loose it.... too much hassle getting the stuff replaced.

You are required to carry proof of auto insurance, auto registration, and driver's license if you're ever pulled over. I carry my medical insurance cards in case I end up going to the emergency room or am in a car accident.

don't have that here, the usual thing is the receive a 'Producer' from a cop if you get pulled over. They'll take down your registration, name and address and sometimes check over the car via a massive database back at control, to see whether you are the legit owner etc. Then the 'Producer' thing will require you to visit the nearest police station to where you live and produce your valid drivers licence, insurance and any other documentation they requested, when you got pulled, within 7 or 14 days. If you don't show then I guess they take further action and prosecute.

urgeok 04-18-2005 11:27 AM

remember when most guys would answer ... 1 condom ?
i remember as teens all the guys would have that telltale round worn circle in their wallets ... and the condom was never used - never replaced ...

by the time it was removed it was this dried out little ring in a peeled plastic cover.

Im so bored
I don't own a wallet, and I think credit cards are for chumps. If you need extra money, play some poker. My car doubles as a wallet I suppose. I keep my money, id's and clothing in there. Extra shoes and a tent. You never know when you're going to need a place to stay.

I have a wallet, but refuse to use it.
I've had too many incidences of losing my wallet, and everything in it...that there is just one HUGE fuckaround...getting more ID with no ID to get it with, everyone looking at you like you're an identity thief, fuck all that shit.

I lose alotta things, see...
so I make my girl carry all my shit when she's with me.., the times I'm on my own, I just take money and like one form of ID, in a breast pocket or in a backpack I'm carrying at the time.

However, to keep it relevant, back in the day when I HAD a wallet I actually used, I had my ID, my school buspass (yeah, it was that long ago), and a collection of movie tickets, bus and train tickets and receipts that would get emptied anytime they threatened the structural integrity of my wallet.
I was never big on pictures, and single back then, so yeah...that was pretty much the size of it.

I keep those things in a little black folder in my glove box....

I keep my medical insurance card and prescription card at home in a drawer, and I put them in my pocket if I'm going to the doctor, or taking the kids to the doctor...

We almost NEVER go to the doctor or get prescriptions (I can't even remember the last time we went, must have been years) so I wouldn't wanna carry it around all the time...If I got into an accident, they'd contact someone at home and get that kinda information then...

That would be a MAJOR pain in the ass....The cops here are so BORED, they'll pull you over for ANYTHING (and then just let you go...lol), and if you don't have your driver's license with you, you have to go to court to show that you have it...Which is stupid, because they can check the computer and see that you DO have one:rolleyes:

My sister got off work late one night...She was driving a co-worker home...She didn't know where she lived, so she was following directions as she drove...At one point the girl said, "turn here"...So, my sister put on her left turn signal then slowed down...Then the girl said, "No...I meant turn RIGHT"...So, my sister put on the right turn signal..........She got pulled over....Cop said, "I just wanted to make sure everything was okay and that you hadn't been drinking...Switching turn signals like that and driving so slow...Just looked a little 'irratic'"....Then he checked her Driver's license and insurance card and told them to "have a good night".....lol

OH...And one time she got pulled over because her registration sticker was on the left side of her plate, instead of the right....Like I said, the cops here are BORED...

@ Urge...I was expecting the 'condom' thing, too...I thought that pretty much ALL guys did that....Another myth dispelled :)
