Amityville

what are they about i am tempted to buy the series on dvd but wats the plot?

EXTR3MIST 10-19-2004 03:28 AM

The infamous haunting of the Lutz family as they move into the house in Amityville where, one year earlier in 1974, Ronald DeFoe murdered his family with a shotgun.

The DeFoe murders are true fact and are the theme of the second movie (a prequel of sorts), but the supernatural element is added by the Lutzes to spice up the story (and their bank accounts) cue bestselling books and films.

FilthyCannibal 10-19-2004 06:44 PM

pretty soon there is going to be a remake coming out. Who knows, it could be better than the original. I thought it was boring.

horror_master 11-04-2004 10:18 AM

The frist moive was based on a ture story. The ones after that I belived aren't really based upon any thurth at all. Expected the second one may have some turth to it.

FilthyCannibal 11-04-2004 12:51 PM

the first one was based on what was said to be truth. Nobody knows but the Lutz's.

The second one was pretty close to what really happened before the Lutz's lived there. It was overdone by Hollywood, but the basic story was true.

What he said!!

The first Amityville had a couple of effective moments ...
The pig in the window was a dandy .. but other than that it didnt really have much of an impact while watching it because you got the feeling early on that no one was going to be killed ... and worrying about where/when the characters are going to be killed is where suspense in a horror movie comes from.

A remake might not be a bad idea but again .. for new fans ..
we already know the story and how do you change something to make it more interesting when it is supposedly based on a 'true story'
(rolling my eyes)

MichaelMyers 11-07-2004 07:11 PM

The best part was when all the priests were cussing at each other.

Hate_Breeder 11-07-2004 07:33 PM

The first one kicked ass to me. Didnt bother with any other ones

Amityville Horror Remake

Now this is a movie that begs to be remade! The new one is gonna show the Defeo killings as well as go into depth as to the supposed indian burial ground the house was built on and other facts of the hauntings. The original movie didnt go in depth about ANYTHING. It was so bland. Things (very few of them) happened and they never even tried to explain them. Not the way you want to approach a "true story." This 2005 Amityville looks to be a winner!

kung-fu-jesus 03-14-2005 04:50 PM

it looks alright

the new movie looks ok.

my only worry is ryan rennolds.

eh has done well in comedy. his blade trinity role was great, but that was mostly comedy.

ill still go see it.

lets prey they dont remake 2 or 3

Wickerman 03-15-2005 03:35 AM

The new Fangoria with Samara on the cover does an in depth story on it. One part has the magnetic stick on letters on the fridge forming messages telling someone to kill...creepy! I got lost coming home from jones beach once from a concert and went way out the way and passed the old house on 412 Ocean Drive. Those windows look like eyes dont they?

The Amityville Horror

I saw the trailer for the new remake of The Amityville Horror, I think it might be a good movie but I want to know what you guys think of it.

MichaelMyers 03-16-2005 11:32 AM

I think Hollywood should show some originality.

immortalem 03-16-2005 05:26 PM

I think the Amytville Horror remake will be an interesting remake. I loved the first one and I am hoping the remake is just as good if not better (if that is possible). I can't wait till this film comes out.

You can't go by trailers, even the worst of the worst have their moments and that's the moments that are packed into trailers which makes it look good when in actuality it could be a complete and utter peice.

bloody_ribcut 03-16-2005 10:09 PM

i got part four. its about a possesed lamp,oHOhOhohohoo. it's scaryily stupid.:(

I'm still trying to figure out where all of the "fat" comments came from...

slasherman 03-17-2005 03:47 AM

Looks like a typical Hollywood horror movie too me...nothing wrong with that...nothing great either

Oh... you are just bitter because you are actually trying to make a differance rather than just bitching about things....

yeah and the stupid fucking utterly retarded motherfucking so called ''agent'' part is because the guy who ''directed''(if that's what you wanna call it, the jackass aint no Clint Eastwood to say the least) fucked up the whole thing I had going with an agent, so actually that should say ''director'' instead of ''agent''.

Amityville remake

Just wondering what everyone's take is on the Amityville remake?

bwind22 03-22-2005 08:33 AM

I'm not a fan of remakes, although this one looks pretty good.

I'm sure there is another thread about this somewhere.

Hate_Breeder 03-23-2005 06:32 PM

I saw a preview for it this week and it looks pretty scary. I'll rent it, or maybe download it once it comes out..

Sedated_replica 03-24-2005 12:34 AM

This movie looks like someone crapped in a bag and filmed it

IT STINKS!

MichaelMyers 03-24-2005 08:07 AM

The website got some nice updates: http://www.amityvillehorrormovie.com/

There is also clips of a psychic named Lorraine Warren. Said she had been in a lot of haunted houses and the Amityville house was the most haunted. She also tells some very interesting tails. Check out those clips on the site. Perhaps the house really was haunted? And maybe the Lutz's embellished a little? She is 100% positive sure the house made DeFeo kill his family.

Or it all could be just movie promotion stuff.

crazy raplh 03-24-2005 10:56 AM

I only saw the poster for it. I hope it has a guy with a afro and a mustache.

Angra 04-03-2005 03:28 AM

I didnīt like the original very much even though i love horror movies about haunted houses. It was disappointing and and not specially scary.

But this one looks like it could actually be scary and even..... good?

Iīm sure gonna see it when it comes up.:)

virus five 04-03-2005 06:38 PM

My girlfriend even wants to see it, and she dislikes horror films (a huge sin, I know). I'll probably be seeing it.
