For some reason or another, hollywood always manages to squeeze in a love story with every plot. Movies have become so predictable and we've only been watching them since 1867/1895.
thats hardly even 100 years! 100+ years and we are already recycling ideas. Im not saying I could do better, but I bet a movie could be made, with lots of entertainment value with out the love story. Or maybe people have become to conditioned to the standerd script and might be bored with out the sex/love.
what do you aficionados think?

I agree. movies like platoon or the godfather would have been a hell of a lot better without all that lovie dovie stuff going on

it just seems like there are a lot more with the love and sex, mostly recent movies and, I dunno, it seems lame.

I havnt seen Platoon [Shoot me]...but I cant agree with The Godfather.

If it werent for a love plot in that, so many memorable scenes would need to be lost. The car blowing up, Micheals line near the first about how he isnt like his familly....so many more

becuz love is fun. but then theres those times where it comes out of nowhere

Plus, who wants to watch a movie where everybody hates each other?

If two characters are in love, it makes it a lot more powerful than if they're not. It's for DRAMA....

Most of us aren't totally "happy", it's nice to see those who are. Gives us hope. Even if it's only a few hours of fiction. IMO.

In my movie there will be no love story. ;) Well some of the other characters may be seen kissing...but I'm making my character as much like me as possible...meaning no one could possibly love her.

it was covered brilliantly by a lot of people .. but never as solefully as by the man himself.

Without the love story, then why in the hell would the girls want to sit and watch those types of movies with their boyfriends?

With the love story part included then the men get the blood and guts and the women get there romance or whatever....ya see where I'm going with this?

It's only fair to the ladies................but thats just my opinion...............love it or hate it.

i dont like sap, for the sake of sap .. but i LOVE the old romantic comedies from the 40's and 50's .. where the dialogue was witty and snappy.

hey .. these days a good love story is just as much fantasy as a horror movie .. maybe even more so..

When I walked into the vet's office and saw her, all of my doubts vanished. She looked even worse than she did on Saturday. She was so weak she couldn't even pick up her head to look at me. So I held her in my arms while the vet gave her the shot, I kissed her and told her I loved her and said goodbye. I picture her up in heaven running everywhere (she had neuropathy and couldn't walk very well) and eating all the bacon she wants!

Thanks, Cheeba. I definitely have very fond memories of her - she was the most gentle and loving cat I had ever seen. And we have 2 more at home to love, so that makes it easier!:)

I agree(of course)....and I think I'm more into gorey stuff than most men! Most men I've known are more into crappy love stories than I am.

Thanks...I don't need love though. I just need money...lots and lots of money. :p That's all I ask for...and I'd be happy and quit complaining. But that isn't going to happen. :o
