Remember . . .

. . . you were once a newbie too.

I'm from the DC area, home of Blair Witch and The Exorcist steps. Longtime horror fan. Big fan of the classics like Night of the Living Dead, Halloween and the old 1932 Universal Frankenstein.

Quick notes:

I think Carpenter is a great director who lost his way, but still has a great movie in him. Lucio Fulci, however, is an overrated hack. I hate to see remakes of classic horror films even though I enjoyed both the Dawn of the Dead and Texas Chainsaw remakes.

I don't read much horror anymore, but I love King, Matheson and Ellison. I've tried Lovecraft and simply can't get into him.

I'm a writer and a filmmaker and lest I be reamed up the ass for spamming, I'll neglect to point you towards the links in my signature.

I realize in the realms of horror fandom that I'm in the minority with my disdain fro Fulci, but I just can't get into him anymore. Back when I was a gorehound kid, I thought his stuff was cool, but as I've gotten older, he tires me.

Zombi's make-up effects were stellar though.

I have never even come across these movies.....maybe in May though...........

I sure would love to see them. :(

More just a statement of fact than bragging. I couldn't think of any other DC area based horror films.

I won't disagrree too vehemently, but you have to admit that the marketing campaign for that movie was nothing short of brilliant.

You can sell a bucket of shit if you advertise it properly.

nine9 02-25-2005 12:51 PM

It was good k......... for awhile I really thought it was real. :)

Disappointed to find out it wasn't.

ningenmanga 02-25-2005 12:51 PM

You know what I always wondered about Blair Witch? What did the $35,000 budget go towards? The equipment was "borrowed." The actors were no-names. The locations had to be either cheap or free.

What about that movie cost $35,000?
