How is "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"?

Is this movie worth watching or buying? And I'm referring to the 1978 version.

Havenīt seen the original, but isnīt the 1978 version more like a sequal?

The Mothman 02-09-2005 02:42 PM

I liked both versions--The 1956 version is classic, but the later version with Donald Sutherland trying to get the chef to eat a rat turd which the chef claimed was a caper was very funny.

The STE 02-09-2005 03:49 PM

there's also the 90's version, which is also pretty damn good

The original is a classic and should be owned by all horror/Sci-Fi movie collectors!

The remake with Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nemoy is a good remake and is worth buying and watching over every now and then. I have it and watch it a couple of times a year.

Where you gonna go? Where you gonna run? Where you gonna hide? Nowhere. Because there's no one, like you, left.

great movie, i highly recommend it.

majorbludd 02-10-2005 08:34 PM

its sorta like the blobs.....
the first one is from the 50's....and is the original, so everybody praises it...the middle ones from the 70's and has some crazy and funny moments....buts real good still....and the last ones from the early 90's i think.....and has the most developed effects...although pretty shitty in blob standards.

In what way? Wouldn't The Thing movies be more like the Blobs?

ChEEbA 02-12-2005 09:58 PM

I've not seen the originals...although I think I saw one called JUST "Body snatchers", which wasn't bad...set on a military base?

Hey, was Invaders from Mars not kinda the same idea? That's another good one.

The STE 02-12-2005 10:01 PM

yeah, Body Snatchers was the 90's one. IotBS is the main movie that I wouldn't mind a remake of at all. 'Bout every 20-ish years, make another Invasion of the Body Snatchers remake. The track record for this pattern so far is very good, I've no reason to think it wouldn't continue to be.

KRUGERKID13 02-12-2005 10:18 PM

its worth owning
