Zombie Poll!!!

What type of Zombie is your favorite?

1. Slow, clumsy, blank stare. Like in NOTLD & DOTD (original) .Or

2. Fast, agile, ferocious stare. Like in DOTD (Remake). Or

3. None. Don't like 'em. They scare me. Like in The Brady Bunch.

damage_plan 01-10-2005 05:27 PM

The fast ones frighten me most when I think about it.I feel I'd have a better chance against the slow ones.

allmykids 01-10-2005 06:23 PM

I like it better when they move fast!!

zwoti 01-10-2005 06:37 PM

gotta go with the classical slow moving

allmykids 01-10-2005 06:40 PM

In the new land of the dead it said these zombies could learn. I think that will be very cool!!

phantomstranger 01-10-2005 06:51 PM

Gotta go with slow, clumsy and blank stare. It looks more like a zombie.

urgeok 01-10-2005 06:53 PM

i prefer the slow ones for effect ..and it makes a lot more sense ...
rigor mortis and all that...

the fast ones make for a better challenge though.

the slow ones are creepier .. psychologically scarier ..
but the fast ones are a real threat.

The STE 01-10-2005 07:38 PM

To me, it seems like speed is a crutch. Of course it'll be scarier if they can run. But if they can't, you (theoretically) have to be a bit more creative in how you build the suspense, or have them appear into the foreground close to the protagonist

Sedated_replica 01-10-2005 08:39 PM

I think that slower zombies are just more logical. But faster is good for our A.D.D society

Marroe 01-10-2005 09:12 PM

Anything fast moving in a horror movie gives me goose bumps. Like in The Cell, that one had some creepy fast shit. But as far as Zombies alone, I'd have to go with slow just because they are supposed to be dead. And I ain't ever seen nothing dead move very fast.

Hate_Breeder 01-10-2005 09:54 PM

Gotta go with Slow Moving.

I mean if you have a massively decaying brain i dont think youd exactly want to run a marathon...

kpropain 01-10-2005 11:16 PM

Slow zombies without a doubt.

ShankS 01-10-2005 11:25 PM

slow ones are best.... when your trapped and have nowhere to escape, the slow impending doom would just be too much.

ChEEbA 01-11-2005 02:16 AM

Of course the slower zombies are more traditional, but I have often wondered if this "evolution" that's happened in the DOTD remake (and I only list those, as I maintain that the 28DL creatures were not zombies - they were still alive, so by definition were not zombies - I wish people would stop nitpicking this cool film), as I was saying, I've often wondered if maybe this will be a growing trend - Romeros next film apparently has faster/AND more intelligent zombies too...Maybe it's just that the film directors have thought "fuck it - I simply WILL NOT think of another way for a slow moving, decrepid corpse to back a living, thinking human being into a corner from which they cannot escape, shit like that just doesn't fly anymore", it could be that...
Although I think in the DOTD remake, it was a little too sudden - I'd have liked to have seen some lumberers too...that's why I think Romeros 4th in the series will be worth a look, from what I've read, the zombies evolve within the film, and a different thing happens depending on who is bitten by what kind of zombie...etc, it appears as though he's trying to bridge the gap and explain how this happens - while appealing to both those that like the fast, and the slow type.
I'm personally looking foward to seeing both types in the one film (not to mention the "thing that we haven't seen before")...I think it'll make for a pretty damn scary experience.

As for my standing preference, I'd have to go with the slow, falling apart "actually dead" zombies - if only for the amount of great films they've graced.

even in the movies with slow moving zombies there was always the inconsistancy of how fast their reactions were when they were eating .. they would scramble around pretty good then...

Hostile1 01-11-2005 06:55 AM

I think Zombies that are slow are more original, but it would be alot harder to escape from these frantic-ass fast Zombies.it's pretty cool how there eyes are all wide and angry doggish . .
Plus I heard they were comin out with Land of the dead, that'd be awsum1

IDrinkYourBlood 01-11-2005 01:12 PM

Totally have to go with the slow zombies, not only does it make more scence but its just cooler and creepier. I dispise the fast zombies....especially if they cant die from a bullet to the brain, or any damage to the brain.

ChEEbA 01-11-2005 05:24 PM

I don't think the not dying from a bullet to the head thing has happened?
Has it?

The STE 01-11-2005 05:29 PM

Return of the Living Dead

ChEEbA 01-11-2005 06:55 PM

I saw the 3 of those when I was pretty young, none of them seemed really that great...probably why I forgot.
I remember thinking the bitch on the cover of the third one was pretty hot though...

IDrinkYourBlood 01-11-2005 08:37 PM

OK i'll let ROTLD be cuz that was a kick ass zombie movie.
