Hey all,

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi. Had some questions for everyone. Im currently in pre production for Curse Of Thorn, i'm trying to change some rules with horror films. Give you all something different, any suggestions? Im taking a very "audience has more intelligence than just boobies and blood" approach. However, there will be many boobies and gallons and gallons of blood. :D

Just make it original.....is that to much to ask? We, as horror fans don't need boobies or gallons of blood, just something orginal and maybe something that requires a little thought...we can handle it.

First 10 minutes shows a pregnant girl getting murdered while a coffin has been thrown through her window with the mark of thorn on it, cuts to outside where her cousin pulls up to visit, cousin sees the coffin in the window and runs into the house (wide shot) screams, cuts to backyard, THE FIGURE walks past frame cradling a screaming baby,

what is that red thing?

a reasonable or decent story line, that we can relate to.

The red thing is the mark of thorn, do yourselves a favor go out and get Halloween 6, it is established somewhat in there. But they dropped it out. There is a producers cut of H 6 out there that has 20 extra minutes talking more about the mark of thorn, and explaining it further.

so basicly you're ripping of a storyline from halloween very original.:rolleyes:

How am I ripping off Halloween? Thorn is a real (weird as it sounds) ancient ruin, THURISAZ, that i found to be good subject matter.

basically i believe the "rip-off" is "The Figure" is a reference to MIchael Myers who is also known as "The Shape

THE FIGURE, is the only way to describe in the script what he is, seeing as you dont really see him as a human till the end, just a shadow etc. I guarantee this is nothing like halloween. it is slasher, but very passionate, emotional, and gory all in one. It has a story. Im just trying to make an entertaining film here guys.

The Figure, the "Curse of the Thorn" bit, the opening about the pregnant chick, it's all really similar to Halloween 6. If you're going to try to disassociate with it, a good start would be to say "a figure" if it's the only way to describe it.

the whole opening with the pregnant girl being murdered, you're calling him ''the figure'', and above all else you're using the curse of the thorn i know it's a real ruin that's where they got the idea for Halloween 6 almost all horror movies have something taken from reality but that's not what you're doing you can't honestly tell me that you didn't get this idea from halloween, now i'm not saying that you're purposely trying to copy halloween 6 i'm just saying that it's not original.

I think we should give this movie a chance. It could be very original. BTW....this is a pic of the main villain in The Curse of Thorn........
