You've locked five movie psychos in a room: Hannibal Lecter (The Silence of the Lambs), John Doe (Se7en), Patrick Bateman (American Psycho), Norman Bates (Psycho), and Max Cady (Cape Fear). Which one makes it out alive?

Max Cady for sure.

Hannibal for sure. He would make the others kill themselves or something lol

well, going by thomas harris who has made Lecter into some kind of super hero .. it would have to be him.
Not only is he smarter ... but according to the book Hannibal .. he's faster than lightning, and excellent fighter .. can smell like a dog ..

Total bullshit but it puts him over the top.


Norman Bates is the weakest of the bunch.

Ok, lets break this down.

Bates is a Wimp.

Bateman was all in his head

John Doe only killed with motive

Cady was out to get someone in particular.


So this leaves Hannibal, the only choice. He just needs to be hungry. Or mad. Or both.

None of them.

and when all the rest are fighting each other, Jason breaks down the door and slices them all with his machete! :)

What about if they had an collar around their neck, threatening to explode in 5 minutes if there is more than one survivor?

its funny .. you see these huge arguements all the time on IMDB (and there have been a share here) on which fictional character would kick who's ass ... and to be honest it kills me ..
Its like arguing about superheros and their powers .. who would beat who ..

Assuming we're talking about the DeNiro version ('cos I haven't yet seen the original)
Not only is he one buff motherfucker, he's also well the most outrightly insane and full of rage out of the lot of them.
He also took all kinds of punishment in the film, and almost got off on it. I mean shit....what was it, ?3? guys somewhat larger than him beat the living FUCK out of him, with bike chains no less...and he came out on top, cool calm and collected all the way.
It sure seems like he'd have the physical advantage.

Out of who's actually alive, well I haven't seen any of the psycho sequels, but since the same guy's in them all, I'd assume he may be alive...
So, it'd be out of him and hannibal.

Hannibal - acts out of sheer brutality, and does some REALLY fucked up things...
Bates - Pussyboy with mother issues...
I think Hannibal would act first, attacking unsuspected, and would most likely overcome Bates before he had much of a chance to do anything...of course, he'd have planned it...Bates seems only to have acted randomly, chances are he'd be having a pleasant conversation until he got his throat cut...

it turns out its all one of Jigsaw's plans and they all die. Should've listened to their tapes...

I think by Patrick being himself (an arrogant asshole), he would turn the others against one another and they would kill each other... he would just walk out.

And if it came to an physical confrontation, I am sure he could hold his own. He would be one of the fittest of the bunch.

-Norman Bates- Really lacks the physical qualities to come out of this one alive. He kills unsuspecting hotel guests as a favor for his mom, but I don't think any of these dudes would be 'unsuspecting'. Bates would get killed first.

-Patrick Bateman- Uhm, is this guy even a legitimate psycho? He never even killed anybody, only fantasized about it. He'd be chopped liver pretty quick too.

-John Doe- He doesn't strike me as the type of a guy who would actually win a fight. His crimes are elaborate so if he had a week to plan, then maybe he'd have a chance... otherwise he's a goner.

That leaves us with Hannibal Lecter and Max Cady. Brains versus brawn.... I'd have to give the edge to Dr. Lecter due to the fact that his brutality knows no bounds and he would probably be able to outsmart Cady somehow.

Yeah, I think he is a psycho. Just not a killer psycho like the others.

Oh so when did he come back?

Max cady without a doubt.
Everyones voting for Hannibal but for me this is where the series fell down. Could a short, fat, old man heading for 70? really over power any one let alone kill them? Oooh i'm scared.
