MATINEE (1993). Fantastic Joe Dante film of a William Castle-esque director (John Goodman is great) coming to Key West during the Cuban Missle Crisis with a new gimmicky film for the theater. Dante certainly did his homework with lots of In jokes, character actors, posters, magazines and songs of the period. All Monster kids will love this one. *****

"Apostle" 8-9/10
A damn good horror movie. Story had a Wicker Man vibe to it, just way more violent and gory. The entire cast was solid and the score was really amazing. It's on Netflix, go see it. |
