Lord Voldemort 07-05-2017 05:28 PM

It Comes At Night. Really braised off at the misleading title. The movie was good but I can't really sing it's praises considering it tries to pass itself off as a monster movie and there's no, bloody, monster in it whatsoever.

By the way does anyone know why the forum was down for so long?

Ok movie about an 80's VCR game.
Acting and characters were better than average, the bits of blood and gore are decent, story was ok but overal I felt like there was missing something.
Just can't put my finger on it.

Saw it not to long ago and loved it! I think the thing you say is missing is its budget. It had a low one but it worked around it somewhat well, IMO.

A Man Called Ove (2015)

Ove, an ill-tempered, isolated retiree who spends his days enforcing block association rules and visiting his wife's grave, has finally given up on life just as an unlikely friendship develops with his boisterous new neighbors.

A wonderfully moving comedy-drama from Sweden, nominated for Best Foreign language film category in Oscar 2017. Loved it!

Saw it last year or early this year. Best movie I've seen in a long time.
I highly recommend it to everyone.

Budget didn't bother me. Thought the story was a little too thin. Or maybe it's just my taste.

Black Dog (1998)

It's been quite a long time since I've last seen a decent, old school-entertaining road-action flick like this. Good for a change.

Spider-Man: Homecoming or Stark Internship (2017)

https://s14.postimg.org/4nhqb3n7l/Sp...omecoming1.jpg

May be overall not as great as Raimi's Spider-Man 2 but still quite a fun & grounded teen superhero flick for MCU. Loved Tom Holland's take on Spider-Man and Michael Keaton as Vulture. Stark's update on Spidey's new suit (Suit Lady - Karen, voiced by Jennifer Connelly) was somewhat over the top though in the middle segment.

Anyway, another solid Marvel entertainer, the 2nd best superhero flick of the year after LOGAN; by a margin, I guess but now Wonder Woman comes third, IMO.

The Blackcoat's Daughter

Well, at the risk of sounding like an idiot......I don't get it. I didn't understand this movie at all. And what's with everyone whispering their lines?!

BURN AFTER READING (2008). Decent Coen Brother film, but strange/convoluted in the extreme. Funny turns by Brad pitt and John Malkovich. ***

It's not you, it's the movie.

I quite dislike stories like this and I always wonder who in their right mind would fund this after reading the script.

Bad Frank, 2017. 6/10

This wasn't too bad, having two old friends going up against one another, which one is more insane then the other. Some interesting sick dialog from Tom Sizemore's character just wish it was put to screen. Brutal.
