Been a fan since early 90s but it was first time Ive seen them live. The Downward Spiral and Further down the spiral have always been the benchmark for me, the version of Heresy on Further Down is one of my favs

The Mothman 11-23-2009 10:29 PM

Yeah you wont believe how many good shows are around here, now that I've found where to look.

The Mothman 12-09-2009 08:15 PM

Phobia, Brutal Truth and Municipal Waste just played a venue one block down from me. that was awesome.

Elvis_Christ 12-10-2009 03:38 PM

DOPE!

Phobia and Brutal Truth's older stuff is amazing. Not as much of a fan of the later shit but I still would love see them live. Municipal Waste's show look like heaps of fun from the DVD I saw awhile back.

The Mothman 12-10-2009 03:46 PM

Yeah the show was a total blast, definitely gonna try and see Phobia again, they were sick!

The Mothman 01-17-2010 10:37 PM

Caenxavier 01-19-2010 04:39 PM

Ceremony and AFI, have never seen AFI, loved them since I was about 16. It was pretty fun, waited outside in the rain with my friend to get our tickets signed, when they came out my pen died...

Doctor Loomis 01-27-2010 05:37 PM

i seriously havent been to a concert in almost 2 years lol. the last one i went to was a nile show. empires ablaze, warbringer, unexpect, the faceless, and suicide silence were the openers

The_Return 01-30-2010 09:03 AM

The Creepshow and The Stiff Wires last night.

Never seen either...Stiff Wires were pretty good, but nothing compared to The Creepshow. Fuck can those guys put on a show!

scouse mac 02-19-2010 09:35 AM

Saw Rammstein supported by Combichrist on Feb 2nd

Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt the best concert Ive ever been to. Combichrist were good, banging electro metal similar to Front Line Assembly but Rammstein were just stunning. The music was amazing and the pyrotechnics and stage set up were of the highest quality. Fantastic show.

WilsonTheWriter 02-25-2010 11:48 AM

Mastodon in Wolverhampton. Great gig, they played Crack the Skye in its entirety and then followed up with a best of from the other albums. No crowd interaction though, but when the music's that good perhaps you don't need it.

Ive struggled to get into Mastodon, but a fair few friends rate them highly.

Ive never been arsed about crowd interaction personally, as you say so long as the music is good who gives a shit?

Scarebaby 02-25-2010 02:05 PM

Last concert I went to was quite a while ago, I mostly go to festivals. It must have been W.A.S.P or Venom.

Until Crack the Skye I couldn't get into Mastodon but that album really sold me. I think it's the prog elements that they incorporated as I'm pretty into my prog too.

On the subject of Rammstein who you mentioned above, I saw them in the Velodrome in Berlin back in 2004 - unbelievable stage show, one of the best live acts I've ever seen and pyros galore. I was disappointed with the new album though, the previous four were much better and I'm not even including Rosenrot as it was essentially a (terrible) collection of songs that didn't make Reise, Reise.

Rammstein overall are a great band, but the last album really let them down I felt although Rammlied and Ich Tu Dir Weh are both reasonable, if only with the latter for the very eerie start up!

We must agree to disagree, I think the new album is fantastic, there are some really great tunes there. Rosenrot, with the exception of Benzin was disappointing though.

Disease 03-27-2010 10:07 AM

Some Sydeney band called the melodys, they sounded like the moodists at times in the rythm section but overall a bit wingey. Andrew Mcubin and the hope adicts played aswell which is always beutifuly tragic.

Got to see the Fleshtones in Chicago last weekend. Unbelievable show. These guys are still at it and are still a wild blast to see live. Got to hang out a bit with their guitar player Keith and talk after the show.

Excellent time.

The Mothman 06-19-2010 08:57 AM

Negative Approach and DOA are playing right around the corner from me tonight. I am a lucky, lucky man.
