I am, for the first time in years, excited about what the next few months have to offer; just please don't let me down. PLEASE!!!

Well, I came to this thread just to rant about one of my favorite movies having a re-make, but you guys made me think twice...without an "ash" actor replacement, there is chance of a good re-make, at least decent...And the footage seems appealing

A new Teaser for the film was released today. It's not much, but it's SOMETHING

Official Red Band teaser. This might be all we get for a while, although there is still talk of something coming online Halloween night.

We'll see.

I was very skeptical when I heard about this 're-make'. But after finding out that Campbell and Raimi had heavy involvement, I had second thoughts. It's a given that the original cannot be touched, it is a work of art. But the teaser for the remake actually doesn't look too bad and I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

What I've read on it is pretty much it will be like what the nightmare on elem street remake. Pretty much just not the same. I kinda agree with a lot of people about that this movie shouldn't be touched and left to stay as a classic.

Bruce Campbell says Evil Dead remake is aiming for an R rating

Quote:

Bruce Campbell has given an update on the forthcoming Evil Dead remake, confirming that the filmmakers are aiming for an R rating, and stressing that the fans are always at the forefront of his consideration.

“We do care what the fans think,” says Campbell, in relation to the initial reaction to the news that a remake was on the way. “There was a lot of negative reactions… they were concerned. But we’re all over this project. Hopefully that will mellow fans out.”

As for the film’s excessive gore content, Campbell reveals that the movie has yet to be rated and that an R would be the bare minimum they could expect.

“We have to try and get it to R. Wish us luck. We haven’t gone through the ratings nightmare yet, that’s coming. We have a screening coming up for the MPAA, I can hear them laughing already. ‘You want an R rating?’

“I can hear their evil cackle from here. We’re gonna see, but we’re gonna give them the toughest version that we can give them. That’s what you want from a horror movie, man. Especially one called Evil Dead.”

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

Directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez, Evil Dead opens in the UK on 12 April 2013.

Campbell must bypass the damned MPAA and release this underground. Do it for the fans Bruce.

V is it just me or did the Necromonicon look better in the original? I suppose the human hairs are a nice touch.
