DM2Hell was a definite winner! I wasn't expecting much with the rating either, but the 'in your face' jump out scenes, the flies, the gore! Oh yeah, it's a keeper.

DM2H was wonderful

The movie was awesome. Especially the over-the-top fighting scenes which reminded me of the Evil Dead movies. It's a trademark movie and restored my faith in Sam Raimi.

Drag Me to Hell was my favorite movie of 2009 and by far the best theater experience I had. :)

Drag Me to Hell

**MINOR SPOILERS**

Holy shit, this one surprised me! I don't think a horror comedy has worked so well since... well, ever. This movie was as funny as it was scary and disgusting, and it truly felt like what I'd expect from a Raimi film. The acting was great (I love you Justin Long ::stick out tongue::), the cinematography was so crisp and nice to look at. The story was also pretty disturbing and creepy. I also liked how it poked fun at a few horror cliches like the bleeding nose thing. The ending, though, was so shocking and unexpected. I'm glad it wasn't another Hollywood ending where everything is alright because I love huge twists like that! I really loved this movie. I jumped and laughed and cringed too many times to count. I haven't had this much fun watching a movie in a long time.

A+

I don't think that movie really categorizes as a horror comedy

How could it not? I laughed during quite a few scenes, and I've read pretty much everywhere that it's a horror comedy. Maybe it's not as tongue-in-cheek (and dumb) as Army of Darkness, but I still think it was a horror comedy.
