I just noticed there's "Oblivion" here...seems to be #4 of somethng though...looks good, but do I have to have played these other elder scrolls games to get into this, or is the story standalone?

Wave Race.

@Geddy
I like Double Agent probably the best out of the rest of the series.

@Phalanx
The Elder Scrolls games are great. The early ones like Arena and Daggerfall are DOS games, so the graphics are kinda bad and you need a computer that will support them. Morrowind is the 3rd and has two expansion packs (Tribunal, Bloodmoon) and is one of the best in the series. Oblivion is basically Morrowind with better graphics, voice work, schedules for all NPC's and a new story. To understand what's going on, you don't need the other games in the series. I mean heck, I'm still looking for a copy of the first one.

anyone ever play painkeep arena for quake 3?

Great mod, deathmatch, but it brings some cool shit to the table, like remote sentries and a singularity, think of it as a temporary black hole. cool shit

Check onlin eto see if there are any known issues with the game freezing before you return it, because most likely getting a fresh copy of the game will not change anything.

Make sure your drivers are up to date, and make sure that the game has the most recent patches before you try playing. Last and certainly not least, make sure you dont have the settings cranked too high. Lock-up is one of the number 1 problems when a game is trying to run beyond the capabilities of your computer. The memory fills up, then it grinds to a halt, like a fused engine block.

Just some suggestions from your friendly neighborhood Vodstok.

Sounds like he picked it up for the 360... most video stores don't rent or carry PC games anymore.

Anywhoo...

Rainbow Six Vegas kicks copious amounts of buttock.
