Thought so.

Have you seen a german zombie movie called "Premutus"?

dantehorrorfan 04-23-2005 11:13 PM

Amityville horror this is a damn good movie and i mean the 1979 version and its in my top 3 horror movies now....:)

"Bhoot"

Indian, yes INDIAN horror movie about a haunted apartment. Average..

I ordered this one on Ebay after reading some promising reviews on IMDB telling that it was very scary.

I liked the lead character and the music score wich is some of the best and most creepy iīve ever heard in a horror movie.
It had a few good scares, but thatīs it.

The horror in "bhoot" were so cliche that it almost brought tears to my eyes. For a 2 hours movie it was at least half an hour too long.
It started out pretty promising with the ghost appearing more and more in the apartment, but after 40 minutes it took a shamefully wrong turn. After that it was all down hill untill the end. I would love to say that it ended with a climax, but that would be a cruel lie...... Yeah well, at least they didnīt start dancing and singing.

Meet the Fockers ..

some of the jokes are getting old, but still lots to laugh at..

Angra 04-24-2005 08:52 AM

"Amityville horror" 2005

Thought it was really, really good, though the ending climax could have been much more imaginative. Ryan Reynolds were terrific.

The new Amittyville.

Well, I only went to this cause I got a free ticket cause I bought the boxset of the originals. And Im some glad I didnt have to pay to see this shitload! I saw absolutly nothing to like about this movie, except for the very brief subplot about the history of the house. If they expanded on that, it might have been easier to sit through. It still woulda sucked though...

Watched "Equilibrium" again tonight. What a great fucking movie.

These are the last 3 movies I saw...

Sideways - Over-rated. Unless you are really into 'wine humor' it's pretty dull. Maybe 2 or 3 funny parts in the whole movie. C+

Season of the Hunted - Man this one was low budget! I think they filmed it on a camcorder because the camera work was terrible. Not very entertaining at all. D

S.I.C.K. - This one was low budget, but actually somewhat entertaining due to the cheesy acting, decent gore, and better than average ending. C

It's fun, but not that great...I mean, it isn't bad IMO, I just didn't like it as much as I did the first, had a completely different atmosphere. There's a few funny kills I suppose, and the creeper shows off some unseen tricks...but thats about the size of it.

I finally finished watching team america: world police.
Admittedly it DID get a little better that I had thought when I watched the start of it...however, I still think it's largely overated.

urgeok 04-25-2005 03:13 AM

i thought Jeepers Creepers 2 was kind of a standout due to what a harsh time the bad guy had...
you just cant kill in peace these days anymore :)

i watched beastmaster last night ...
this is what Don Coscarelli was doing when he wasnt making Phantasm or Bubba Ho-Tep movies.

well.... at least you got to see Tanya Roberts boobs for a second..

Elvis_Christ 04-25-2005 04:53 AM

I'll have to check JC2 out if its floating around cheap to buy.

I remember watching Beastmaster as a kid. I got it out because it looked like it'd have lots of naked chicks in it :p

here's something i didnt realize till last night ..

there are these 3 witches ... hot ass bodies .. often semi naked .. but with these fucked up faces ...

and one of them is Janet Jones (Gretsky) !

too bad they covered her face.

Not a lot of nudity in it but enough violence that my kid cant watch it - which is too bad because he digs the animals.

Also on the weekend i watched the TV miniseries 'Dinotopia' (the DVD set)

Great set and art design, the dinos looked fantastic .... but the characters left something to be desired, with the exception of the always excellent Davit Thewlis. Alice Krige was ok too but her role was a throw away.

Visually interesting, but dull, plodding, and totally predictable.

I agree with that. JC2 was okay, but followed a more typical Hollywood formula than the 1st one. Like Cheeba said, the Creeper does show us some new tricks though, which are cool.

Blade Trinity

meh.......not as good as the last two. Why did they have to make Dracula look like he just stepped out of a gay porn movie?

Is this as awesome as it looks? I've heard of it before, but never seen it. What can you tell me about it? Is it foreign? Is it hard to find? Is there buckets of blood shed?

I don't think it should be too hard to find. I'm sure your local video store has it.
It is indeed pretty awesome. I wouldn't say there is buckets of bloodshed but there is some very cool gunfights [ gunkata ] and a great story.
Christian Bale is excellent, and it will get you psyched for the new Batman movie.

Thanks Newb!

Im probably going to go rent it right now (If my nearby shitty video store has it) otherwise I'll grab it later from Hollywood Video. I think I'm going to rent that movie, Slash, just to check it out. I also have Battle Royale 2 that I need to watch in the next couple days, so I'm going to have my hands full...

I actually liked that one...It's not one of my favorites, but still okay...But, it's quite a bit like 'Dark Harvest'...Almost TOO much......

Dustin really liked it, as I think most musicians would...I think Steve Railsback is an excellent actor...He does his characters so well...He practically WAS Manson in 'Helter Skelter', it was eerie...And his Ed Gein was awesome, too...

1. Ryan Renolds was OK, but not very good, while James Brolin played the part amazingly. The George character was better even aside from the acting in the original, IMO, because at first, he was a nice guy who slowly decended into madness, while in the remake, he was a jackass to start.

2. In the original, more was left to the imagination. It never told you why the house was haunted, it just sorta was. I find that much creepier than semi-decent looking CGI ghosts in a movie like this.

3. Father Delaney was one of my favorite parts of the original, and he hardly had a cameo in this one. His scene in the house when it tells him to Get Out is one of my all time personal favorite scenes.

4. In the original, I liked how the house cut them off from the outside world, by screwin' with the phone lines, and sickening those who entered. None of this is in the new.

Hmmm...Equilibrium?

Back to equilibrium for a moment...a little while ago I saw some of it...I'd like to finish it, and I'm sure I will - had a very interesting concept.
Now, about a week ago, I saw a documentary about old action/sci-fi movies, and one called "farenheit 451" was discussed.
It seems to share the basic idea of equilibrium, and I had to wonder if maybe the earlier film had inspired it...would anyone that has seen both films agree to this?

So, farenheit 451, is it worth watching? Looks pretty good...

Equilibrium is influenced by Farenheight 451, Brave New World, and 1984. Add to the mix some excellent action and interesting characters - and there you go.

The movie Farenheight 451 is a bleak view of the future (it doesnt look futuristic at all - just the concepts) but it's an interesting film by Franįois Truffaut (one of my favorite filmmakers)

Its being remade as well ... big suprise.

I recommend you read the book by Ray Bradbury ..

I would say though, that yes - Farenheight 451 was the heaviest inspiration for Equilibrium..

"Cursed"

Asian horror movie.

Not very good.

5/10

Despite itīs low budget and bad actors, this movie actually started out pretty promising with a girl getting wasted by a bus, a guy disapearing in a dark room, and especially the almost "halloween" scene where a girl is being followed by a creepy guy draging a sledgehammer.
But sadly enough "Cursed" turns out to be a complete mess, with a chaotic ending that stops in the middle of everything without giving you any answers at all..

ChEEbA 04-26-2005 11:48 AM

I watched the first episode of the original BBC tv series of "Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" on the box-set I borrowed.
I've never seen it, or read the books...
Despite looking rather dated, it still had an interesting story, and was quite funny. I look foward to seeing more.
