I'm sure a lot of you heard about the YouTube vlogger that went into the Suicide Forest and posted a vlog with a picture of a hanging body. People were appalled and he had to delete it (obvi). But I did watch another vlogger document his night in the forest. It was interesting.

I didn't see it. It is a controversial issue. If we see that vlogger's video of Suicide Forest and picture/vid of hanging body as "inappropriate entertainment", then we can understand the outrage.

On the other-hand, if it's meant to shake society into seeing this is a real issue that needs to be addressed an acted upon by people with depressed loved ones, by leaders of society and so on, then is, or was, an important message. And whether the vid is taken down or not, perhaps the vlogger should not be banned, etc.

In either, or both, cases Youtube and society still has to look at the big picture of the consequences of allowing vids of this type.

Well apparently the vlogger, Logan Paul, and some of the friends with him were giggling and disrespectful. I just don't see how that could be true..who would do that?

Logan Paul and his brother are pieces of shit. I can't watch their videos. Some online friends were talking about this particular video. It's true. They did film an actual dead body in Suicide Forest in Japan. And were completely disrespectful. And then he issued a completely insincere apology.

I had never heard of him til this all came about. I couldn't believe young adult men could be such asswipes about something like that. I guess I could understand if someone laughed nervously but even that's a stretch.

There's a series of videos on YouTube that I watch called Facts. It's basically Irish people (it's based in Dublin) eating different foods, drinking different things, and watching various shows/movies/videos. There was one that had them watching his YouTube channel.

BTW, I highly recommend the Facts. videos. They are hysterical! Especially when they're drinking booze or doing things while they're drunk.

Wow. Looks like Insidious will beat Star Wars at this week's box office.

Oh, ok, that is revolting behavior. I didn't see the vid, never heard of vlogger either, just heard about it on NPR. Naturally NPR buttressed the story with some info on the 'suicide forest'. In spite of the vlogger, hopefully some good can come from attention to the issue.

Well, I have to admit I was able to find a fair portion of the video last night. So i saw "the body" but the face was blurred. Logan and his friends did indeed act like asshats . It seemed more out of shock at first but then they seemed to be playing it up a bit. Pretty sure it was a male teen and he was very well-dressed. I don't know why that surprised me. The body was found within a few minutes from the parking lot. Dear soul.

Yeah man first...x-ray shots of normal and homicidal brains....goes on and talks about the anatomy of empathy....brain circuits and how they get activated or suppressed from extreme altruists to psychopaths...great diagram showin' which coils of the brain do stuff like viscerally reacting to other's physical pain...
