Africa Screams

Mom loves Abbot and Costello, so we watched it on a bus trip one time, but she fell asleep and we never finished it. Completely forgot about it until I put the VHS in and we started watching it. Glad I got to finish it I guess! ::big grin::

They are just a joy to watch... the simpatico and yin-yang of the duo feels like family. I've seen a few of their films, but really I only remember the classic "Who's On First" routine. I know Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is considered some fine cinema, and I'm pretty sure I watched it with my mom, but I really don't remember anything from it. I feel like the whole movie would be one of the monsters would be behind Abbott, and then Costello would be doing is conflagration breakdown trying to tell him. ::big grin::

Hey Roiff? Where does your avatar 'werewolf' pic come from?

http://horror.com/forum/customavatar...ar89697_23.gif

When I saw it, it eerily reminded me of this album cover:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._of_Nature.jpg

That's Kansas' "Freaks of Nature". It's a picture of Adrian Jeftichew -- he (and his father) suffered from a condition called hypertrichosis. Adrian worked the circus sideshow circuit in Russia, until he was purchased by PT Barnum and brought to the US. They gave him the stage name "Jo-Jo the Dog-Faced Boy". Barum came up with the performance story that a hunter tracked Adrian and his father down to their cave and captured them, that they were savage, and stressing he looked like a dog, obliged that Adrian growl and bark.

Pretty good album. Here's the title track:

From WolfCop's Facebook page of course. ::big grin::

Not bad, I like some Kansas songs. 8)

Dang I haven't looked up hypertrichosis in ages. It always made me sad the way the people with it were treated. Isn't much different today from what I've seen, there are still 'dog faced boys' in freak shows. At least they're not made to growl and bark.

It IS fine cinema! If you haven't watched it yet then do yourself a favor and fix that ASAP! ::wink::
