Seriously. How can I still be the only one at HDC playing this at them moment? I'm pretty sure I'm halfway through by now. And so far there's been pluses and minuses. The big pluses has been the facials and voices of any characters in the game. And there has been a LOT. Also the gameplay is like a mix of GTA and Heavy Rain. Feels like you're playing a crime movie with lots of driving. The minuses comes of the repetiveness. Pretty much all missions follows the same pattern, which is kind of a let down when you get into the game. Also i'm sure most gamers won't give a shit about the extra missions untill they've completed the main story, which makes it less "open world" even tho the map IS huge. You just don't care. But I like how they've change the whole "open world" concept with this game. And I'm sure a lot of other bold moves will follow after this one. YAY!!! |
^^ I really want it, but want to read a few more reviews... Would you recommend it?
Portal 2 - What a blast - Almost through it. |

Majin & The forsaken Kingdom.
Fair old bit of wondering around in this title...can feel slow at times...and while I feel that it could use some more dialogue, it's a pretty playable game with a good level of challenge. It's kind of like, mashed up elements of Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, Enslaved and Kingdom Hearts. It's a tad rough around the edges in places but stunning in others. Very nice musical score. Feels like a quality title thus far, enjoying it. Those that don't like depth or any kind of "puzzles" in games need not apply, it's not laden with them but it's definitely not one for the button basher crowd. |
Having a look at an old game called "Strife" on pc.
Looks like it might've come out at about the same time as the first doom? Not too bad, interesting incorporation of rpg elements into an FPS. |
Borderlands. Haven't really gotten into it a lot yet, seems pretty decent so far.

I've changed my mind. Wait untill you can get it cheap. The game is simply too repetitive. And with almost nothing to do outside the main missions the replay value is very low. |

Not really my cup of tea, so I moved on. "Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes" PS3 Except for all the boring dialogue THIS is my cup of tea. Hope the original Heroes games comes to PSN soon. No dialogue. Just pure fun. |
Working my way through Infamous now.

Taking a break from Majin & the Forsaken Kingdom to have a look at BioShock 2.
Not too different from the first one, but thus far it's got a much better storyline IMO and slightly more structured level design. The game can be frustrating, though it's pretty immersive and easy to lose hours on. ...Feels maybe a bit more like Bioshock 1.5 to me though, the gameplay improvements and changes are not huge...but I suppose if you liked the first one getting another outing into Rapture is pretty cool and I like that they have tied it in to the storyline of the first one quite well, with some moments that make you rethink things entirely and very interesting revealations. I am wondering if they'll throw in the "twist" like the first one did? My guess: The messages are somehow from the past, the daughter is either dead or the big sister that keeps running away/swimming away/watching you. and/OR the player is not who we're supposed to think he is. Progress...I've just finished dealing with some dude that turned himself into this ?thing? living in a big tube. Feels like the end is not all THAT far off. |
Rented Dragon Age 2 but I just couldn't get into it.

F.E.A.R. 3 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Playing as Paxton is pretty damn fun. I have always loved the Elder Scrolls games as well.

Vanquish.
I didn't really have hope for this game to begin with. That turned out to be a good. The graphics on this look really poor and the voice acting is just awful. |
Playing through Fallout 3 again.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City

L.A Noire. Interesting but a little repetitive.

Hooked up the old N64...Starfox is stealing most of my time right now, but Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are close behind. Love this shit. |
I also hooked up an old system but it was my dreamcast not my N64. So I started playing silent scope and Quake 3 arena.
|
Dirt 3 on the PC.
Great game so far - have only played the first set of races, but already there has been rally stages, an arena race, and a classic car rally. Glad that there seems to be a bit more bias towards rally events than Dirt 2, which seemed to favour arena events. Still have the stupid over-the-top commentary. Sometimes I yearn for the days before voice acting was commonplace in games. |
Ps3
Im playing Assassins Creed 2 (despite 100% completion), GTA IV, Prototype (second time through, all upgrades unlocked) and of course COD Modern Warfare 2
