But Combat Shock is quite unlike any other Troma release - it was snapped up by Kaufman after a mid-80's run in grindhouse theatres in a cut version under the title American Nightmare.

It has since been reissued fully uncut by Troma, and is a million miles away from their usual brand of Z-grade acting and cornball special effects.

Grim in the extreme, and highly recommended.

C'mon... I dug the movie but the effects and acting were as bad as (almost) any other Troma movie I've ever seen. "Life's hard Frankie, and because it's hard I feel compelled to take off my jacket." Wow, and then he takes off his jacket... hahaha. I don't know, like I said I liked the movie but this was as bad as a lot of other Troma stuff. (Although the Troma special features were HORRIBLE... holy hell... Cooking With Combat Jacques? Wow...)

Leprechaun 6: Back 2 the Hood

I was shocked and surprised that this movie was actually one of the best in the series. The acting is alright, the character development is miles ahead of any of the other films and they stopped having Lep speak in those annoying rhymes. And the humor is actually funny (Which is a far cry from Leprechaun 4 or Lep in the Hood. The part where Leprechaun smokes weed is great.) The biggest downfall was that the gore was primarily off-screen, but other than that this was one of my favorites in the series. Anyways, I was expecting this to be the worst of the 6 Leprechaun films and it ended up being one of the best (Right there with Leprechaun & Leprechaun 3. C

I was just looking back a few pages to see what people had been watching lately and I saw 2 films getting bashed that I have to disagree on...

Following - This is the first film from Christopher Nolan (Memento)and it's certainly a strange one, but I don't think it was bad at all. Slow paced? Yeah. Lacking of any physical action? Yeah. But the story and main character are so fucked up it makes this movie really cool to me, despite the low budget and amateur feel of it.

And the other one was...

The Salton Sea - Aside from Tombstone, this is the best acting performance I'e seen out of Val Kilmer. I would have to think he's done some speed in his day to be able to portray a speedfreak so accurately. And the scenes with the drug dealers (2 different scenes with 2 different dealers) are fuckin' crazy! I really, really liked this movie a lot.

Anyways, there's my rebuttals on those two movies...

I have to completely disagree with Memento, imo it's one of the best movies there are done by a so far outstanding director.
