We wrapped principal photography on GIALLO today!:D

We'll be in post-production shortly.

neverending 06-14-2008 09:30 PM

Wow- that was pretty fast!

GorePhobia 06-14-2008 10:33 PM

Congrats on that dude.

Wicked awesome.

Think we will see the movie before years end or early 09?

Roderick Usher 06-15-2008 05:05 PM

Thanks everyone. Your support is really awesome.

It might be late '09 before the film is in theaters. We still have to edit, color correct, score, maybe ADR a little and add SFX touches here and there. The film will probably be "done" by the end of summer but releases are tricky things and we still don't have a U.S. Distributor.

We have some extremely exciting news regarding a very cool potential premiere venue. More on that when it is prudent to divulge.

Holy shit. So how long did it take to shoot, beginning to end?

And, congrats, Rod! Definitely will keep my eye open for it.

GorePhobia 06-15-2008 11:55 PM

Well whenever it is released I know I will be there!

Maybe we could all come to the Premeire!!

A HDC meet-up at Rod's big movie premeire....that would be wicked.

Stupid question... how is this title pronounced?

Doc Faustus 06-30-2008 01:43 PM

Congrats! The pictures look great! There was a mention of the movie in Horrorhound magazine. They seemed pleased that Argento was going back to his roots.

Giallo - (djallo/jah-lo/jee-ah-lo) n.
1. The Italian word for yellow.
2. Stylized Italian crime cinema of the 1960s and 1970s typified by beautiful victims, excessive bloodletting and deviant killers.

That sounds like it was short... How long does it usually take to shoot a film?

By the way... Those pics look awesome. Keep 'em coming!

some are shot in 18 days, some take 90 or more. It all depends on your budget and how wasteful/thrifty you are going to be.

And average mid-budget film $8-20 Million will shoot for 40 days, but then the post-production process can take quite a bit of time. Luckily for us, Argento essentially edits in the can, meaning he knows the shots he's going to use in the final cut and only shoots those - he shoots minimal coverage which speeds up the process.

We start editing in a few weeks and it will take at least a month (I'd say more like 3, but I've been told it will go faster) to complete... then who knows how long before it is made available to the public?

Pictures look great and I am stoked to see this.

Disease 07-01-2008 04:41 PM

I sold my soul to get this film made - I'm broke and have absolutely no pull with the producers, so that ain't gonna happen.

GorePhobia 07-02-2008 03:05 PM

That stink but oh well I will pay money to see the flick more then once to help get this movie the money it deserves.

Make it happen, or don't, it's up to you.

When will there be a trailer?

you want me to buy you tickets? seriously? If I had worked at McDonalds for the past year I would have made more money than what I got paid for 2 years of work on this film.:o

As for the trailer. we haven't even started editing yet, so I'm guessing sometime around the end of September or early October.

and my favorite shot from the film...
