Honestly, The Grudge was really boring to me. There were a couple scary parts, but I thought the movie was way too over-hyped.

And I agree with newb on The Eye. That's a really creepy one.

ChillerTV post - 13 of the scariest PG horror movies

A lot of them have already been mentioned.

I was going to recommend Burnt Offerings, but I actually think the scene where the father tries to drown the son is maybe too scary for a kid. Although, I watched it a couple times as a kid and wasn't scarred for life. :)
