*No smoking of anything, whatsoever.

*Start a savings account.
*Eat more fresh fish.

That's me done, all quite manageable.

Just to let you know that giving up soda and all that is hard at first but after the first week or two you will completely not even think about it anymore. That is what happened to me. I dropped out soda, iced tea, and all that and drink water with EVERYTHING now. It helps out a lot. It also helps to not eat late at night and try to eat things that are not fried. I go to the gym 3 times a week now and ride a stationary bike while I am there and it has been helping.

Cool to hear it's working out then.
I basically made the decision after having a discussion with a doc about what the best kind of things to do aside from dietary are, he pointed out the obvious, more excersize, asked if I drank beer (that's a definate "bad" but I drink it maybe once every few weeks m'self) then soda/softdrink.
Said that's just about the worst thing, high sugar concentration, your body draws on sugar reserves instead of fat (in a basic way of putting it) which it should be = more soda, massive sugar excess, no fat shedding.
Excersize I've still got to work into a solid routine too though.

I lost 47 pounds the last three months so it does indeed work but it is hard to get going at first. I recommend getting a teammate or someone to excersize with. It makes it a lot easier when you don't feel like going and doing it and the other person basically gets your motivated to do so. I have my brother Bob who basically knocks my door down to get my ass to the gym the days we need to go when I don't feel like getting up.

Proof for what reasoning?

I weighed 420 and am now down to 373. I am still a big dude but it helps being 6'4 and being proportioned. I still need to lose a lot of weight but I am trying my hardest even though having Sciatica doesn't help at all.

Jon, I have sciatica problems too, from injuring it while in the USAF. I've found through the years (I've been dealing with it for over 20) that yoga and stretching really help. Taking off the weight will help, too. I've noticed since I've gained so much weight that my sciatic has been acting up. You also need to pay attention to the weight of things you lift. Don't go going He-Man thinking you can lift all this weight - you can't now. Heat helps, too. If you don't have a heating pad or hot water bottle, invest in one. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or email me - you have my email still?

Perhaps I'm a party-pooper of sorts...but my new year's resolution is to stop making new year's resolutions because like many I either don't complete it, slowly decrease the amount of time doing it, or forget about it all together. I was watching some spoof on CBS's Up to the Minute news around 3:45 am or so and some guy said his New Year's resolution was to give out New Year's Resolutions to other people. Wow. What do you guys think of that. That makes me think if you guys had the power to literrally do that what would a list of HDC Resolutions be like for everyone on here. Maybe someone-like a mod or some-one with HDC seniority could make a master list giving out hdc resolutions....just a thought for shits and giggles...lol :D
