Well, I'll let you know how being a Sphyx cat owner goes. They're high maintenance (and really really WEIRD looking), but it's SO worth it because I really really really want a cat. They're friendly - they'd probably get along with you r dogs. :)

Thank you. :)

I have heard they are sweet natured. Let me know, I might seriously consider it someday. I don't mind weird looking, most kinds of cats and dogs are cute to me. I have a huge soft spot for animals. I KNOW I would have more if we could afford it and had a bigger house. :p

Now I'm in touch with this breeder.

They have itty bitty kitty babies - 1 week old. Just inquired about this one:

I want my kitten. :)

Adorable. I can't wait to knit something for that adorable ball of fleshy skin.

I was expecting it too.... on that note people DO knit testical warmers. Why? I will never know.

but seriously, I can't call a hairless cat a little ball of fluff now can I? A little ball of flesh is what it is. ugh the grammar there hurts me.

LOL

Dude. So I visited my mom last night and she described hairless cats as "looking like a scrotum."

This was after she had agreed to take the cat in the event that my boyfriend is, indeed, allergic to it.

Thanks, mom. Really nice. :p

SO

Being the good daughter that I am, I am purchasing two little Maine Coon kittens for my mom (her Maine Coon cat died back in January and she lives by herself so I figured that these ladies will be perfect companionship).

I've been working with a local breeder and last night we got to go visit them:

Here are the little critters at 8 weeks old. Mom will be able to take them home at 12 weeks. :) They were adorable, but TERRIFIED of us. haha Hope they get over it.

As for me, I have to wait until July to take home my hairless alien kitten. :( *impatient*

I'll see if the breeder will take pics of her at 8 weeks (she lives 4 hours away, so it's not as easy for me to go visit them unfortunately).

i'm sure they'll be fine once they're at your moms

OMG, they're adorable!! Just take it slow when you bring them home, let them get adjusted to their new surroundings. I'm sure it'll all be OK.

So I emailed my hairless Sphynx breeder checking in on the kitten that we reserved...

...

...

and she died a couple of weeks ago. :(

...

It's strange because the kitten wasn't really ours per se, but I had that picture of her at one week old and really embraced it...

...

I feel stupid for being upset...

...

But anyway.

The breeder had another litter on April 16 and she said that she's reserving one of those females for me. She's 5 1/2 weeks old right now and the only pictures that the breeder has are really blurry.

But I still feel like my kitten died. :(

Aww Chrono I'm sorry, really I am. I have like 20 cats at my house(because for some reason we just can't get rid of anything that shows up at our door) and I've had ones that were mine, and I've lost a couple, and even kittens. I hope everything works out.
