"Dead space" PS3

Great

"Fallout3" PS3

Great

Gears of War 2

Amazing game IMO.Campaign is a little lacking but it makes up for it with Horde mode, which is a blast to play if you have a good team.

Alot of the new features like taking a human shield or being able to crawl while your down makes this game even more fun to play.

Dude Guadalupe 11-14-2008 11:48 PM

Dracula: Origin (pc)

Not bad, so far it seems to be puzzle more oriented than anything.

Have it but haven't attempted it yet. I'm pretty horrible at shooters. But I've been watching others play it and it is indeed an awesome game.

I am currently playing Lego Batman. That's more on my skill level :)

Phalanx 11-16-2008 05:52 PM

Friend bought over James Bond - Everything or Nothing.
Don't like it.

Vodstok 11-16-2008 06:25 PM

Starting up Crysis. I'm literally in the first 5 minutes (just jumped out of a plane and landed in the water), but the opening intro was fucking awesome. It explains the concept behind your suit and plays like the opening to a great action movie.

Vodstok 11-16-2008 08:36 PM

OK, I am now over 2 hours into Crysis and I now understand why PC Gamer's review said "there are 2 types of games, those you played before Crysis, and those you play after"

It really raises the bar. The interface is slick and very intuitive, the story is immersive and the action (and the SUIT) are incredible. there is nothing quite like walking right up to someone cloaked, then shotgunning 2 of them in the back point blank :)

800 points, pretty cheap really. It's got co-op and uses the avatars, really just a good social game. Hang out and build a little city. By the way, my foreign trade policy as ruler of that kingdom... help the gypsies and alienate the rest. I may need to re-think that. No fighting, nothing intense, just a relaxing game that kind of reminds me of Settlers meets Sim City. Don't expect something deep or life altering, but it's a blast.

Gears of War 2 - Freak was showing me the what's up in Horde mode.

CoD: World at War - Me and a buddy beat the co-op campaign.

Left 4 Dead - Getting it at 5 today so I'll be playing it soon...

Very good, the story on multi-player co-op (which is different than the single player) had some awesome moments.

How long is it? And does it have different difficulties on Co-Op?

Not that long and yes.

Currently playing Fallout 3 on the XBox 360. Beautiful game. I'm a pussy when it comes to the underground stuff, though. :o

I'm playing Tomb Raider Underworld right now. The graphics are awesome and she climbs a lot better and shoots both pistols at two targets. Her jumps register a lot better than before. It's pretty fun.

I played the demo of that. The graphics were really fluid.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Phalanx 11-27-2008 05:45 PM

No games or cash right now, ha.
Might replay dungeon siege or the first far cry if I can find it...

ManchestrMorgue 11-28-2008 12:00 PM

I've been playing GTR2 again, because I just picked up a Logitech G25 wheel.

Best wheel I have had.

GTR2 is still a great racing simulator.

VampiricClown 11-30-2008 01:16 PM

Gears Of War on Insane.

Phalanx 11-30-2008 06:44 PM

Broke out the dreamcast again...started playing a game I'd hear of but never got into before...been sitting in my collection forever...
"Blue Stinger".
Anyone ever play this?
Aside from a few clunky animation issues, and a not so great control system, its age considered this is actually a very decent survival/horror/scifi type title.

I think I remember seeing a friend play this once. The only think I cant remember though is it had something to do with the ocean but then again it's been over 10 years.

Phalanx 12-01-2008 06:16 AM

Yeah,on some meteor-strike created island thing...big dome forms around it and you get trapped inside with the things most of the humans turn into (they look kinda like something out of "the thing"), survival horror...pretty early dreamcast game though, it kind've shows its age.
But hey, its still a "new" game to me so I'm gonna try go with it.

Vodstok 12-01-2008 07:36 AM

Great ending, the episodic content is so-so as a whole but there are a couple great parts in each. I'm actually REALLY looking forward to Episode 3 since finishing Ep2.

Azazel005 12-10-2008 06:21 AM

I actually thought portal was the most cleverly crafted video game narrative I have seen in years. One voice, not much time almost no conflict in the traditional sense.

Hell give me those paramaters and I'd jsut scratch my head as to how one would go about telling a story, let alone a damn hilariously dark one such as Portal creates... with it out on live now I think everyone should play it, hell I bought orange box to play it and I fucking hate half life.

Call of Duty: World at War

Not being a big shoot-em-up fan i find it quite hard to get into.

The Mothman 12-24-2008 10:02 AM

Farcry 2: Badass. open world was the way to go with this series.

Deadspace: also badass. a mix of Resident 4 Evil and Doom 3, yet better than both, creepy as fuck and good fun. Theres nothing more satisfiying than blowing a mosters limb off, watching it slowly crawl around on the ground, then walking up to it and stomping it to death.

I thought the gameplay was rather unique, and the atmosphere perfect. It almost felt on par with F.E.A.R., but the repetitiveness of later levels put it a slight notch below. Still an excellent game, nonetheless.

If you are a fan of unique gameplay, check out Prototype. I posted a bunch of links to the trailers in a thread.

which difficulty setting did you play on?
im torn between medium and hard, medium felt too easy, yet i have a bad feeling hard will become impossible as i get further into the game.

Yea, i'm a console spastic..

VampiricClown 12-26-2008 05:50 AM

Call Of Duty: World At War

So far, this is a darker game than the others in this series. Interesting turn.

I usually play most games on Medium first to familiarise myself with the game's atmosphere and gameplay first. Then if the game is worth it, Hard on the second go.

Medium was okay, not too bad. Like I said, gameplay felt a bit repetitive as the levels progressed. But the signature killing style was really groovy, and it had LOADS of atmosphere. Always 2 pluses in my book.
