The Blob 1988
3/10 It had some nifty 80's-dated FX and Shawnee Smith's pretty face... but nothing else. It was more of an homage to other sci-fi films without being the least bit thought provoking. Or it's a bit of a parody to The Blob, without being the least bit funny. Very poor character development -- didn't care about, nor even believe, in any character. Wasn't scary, and built little suspense -- though I do applaud the phone booth scene. It even miffed on it's chances at some sci-fi wonderment, which, for The Blob, is just inexcusable. I've always liked it when the scientist, stands before the generals and president, explains the creature and how we're all in big trouble. They didn't even have that. |
Put in my Pieces (1982) DVD the other night to see if I needed to upgrade it to that sweet grindhouse bluray that just cam out/coming out. The movie is great.

Patrick 1978
I really enjoyed this movie as it had a lot of suspense and thrilling scenes.
As I was only 11 when I first watched this movie, I used to think that if I had to work in a mental institute and come across someone like Patrick, I'd surely crap myself. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VoojGwJxlH...ATRICK-008.png |
My parents let my brother and I watch Salem's Lot when we were 12. It's been burnt into my skull ever since. I was watching CHiPs the other day and one of the Glick boys played a child kidnapped in a car. Credits said it was 1980 the year after Salem's Lot.

FLESHEATER-1988. Downright awful flick that tries way too hard and doesn't succeed the majority of the time. Enjoy low budget flicks as I appreciate trying to do your best on little $$, but other than an amusing "In-Joke" towards the end, pass on this. *
