I think this is 70's cheese, by the way. But cheese is great no matter the decade! |

Yep, I was ten, and that ad campaign scared the hell out of me. You know the one I mean? The baby's bassinet slowwwwwly turns as the lullaby music plays, and then the claw hand is revealed!! Terrifying to my 10 year old brain.

STRAW DOGS (1971). John McCarthy in THE MODERN HORROR FILM considers this a horror film and I must say I agree. A little flawed and slow moving but picks up quick with a rather nasty rape scene and the final segment at the house is incredibly intense and quite frightening. Dustin Hoffmann is great as the smug pacifist who is driven to his breaking point by a group of violent drunken louts and lovely Susan George has never been better. This came out around the same time as A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and while I like both films, think SD still packs more of a punch. **** |
Halloween (1978)
I give it a thumbs up! |
Silver Bullet (1985)
I think it's only the second time I saw it. Didn't age that well. And movies need more Gary Busey. |
