Edgecrusher is the name of a Fear Factory song. The song is about a totalitarian government that controls every aspect of your life (think the book '1984' by Orson Wells). Edgecrusher is the name of someone who attempts to stand up to and overthrow this government, and fails. He is eventually killed standing up for what he believes in.

I have been using this name for over 4 years now. The reason that I modified it to Egekrusher is that when I first started really getting into computers, I was playing a game called Quake 3 (which, back then, was HUGE). There were already other people using the name Edgecrusher, so I just modified it slightly. The name stuck.

I am, however, starting to use a different name whenever I get the chance: PowerSurge. This is the name I want to use for my music, though there may be other artists out there that are already using this name. I'll have to check.
