Let me know if I missed something. I bet he would have put him in Batman if he could.

That said, I like the pair. Depp is just that level of freaky cool that I like (and not a total douchebag like so many other actors) and Burton always has his little creepy artsy thing going. They work well together.
Depp had nothing to do with Nightmare.

Burton's Alice in Wonderland seems too predictable. Considering the biting satire, the punning , the dream language and the harshness of it all, I'd say Jodorowsky would be the only director who could do Alice justice. Possibly Terry Gilliam.
