I make a mean potatoe and bacon soup, awesome comfort food type stuff. Its pretty easy to make, and is delicious.

Definately - gotta go with the nutmeg.

Carrot I haven't tried (on it's own) in soup...mainly just as an addition to others.
I could see it working in certain ways.

I just love soup. One of my favorite foods. Clam chowder, potato, cheese, leek, mushroom, cream of broccoli, tomato... really I'll eat just about anything in a soup type form. I love to put grated parmesan on top of most soups.
