NIN definitely was a huge mental health factor for me.
I was 18 and absolutely lost in life-again. The first album had hit the left of center radio stations and they toured the small clubs at that time.
I used to drive around at 3am with their tape blaring.
I screamed at the top of my lungs and cried till I was empty.
Then I was exhausted enough to sleep and be almost normal the next day.

Frank Herbert- I had fallen into my first major depression and had picked up his entire Dune series up to the book before ChapterHouse.(why can't I think of this title? grr)
I read them all back to back and felt (and this sounds really stupid) smarter.
I had better conversations with people after I read his work, which in turn got me out more, which made me more friends, which made more events happen, ect. ect.
Which made me feel less alone and the cycle of all that pulled me out of the darkness.

My kids- they have taught me so much, I cannot even begin....

Whatever happened to Leon Trotsky?
He got an ice pick
That made his ears burn

Whatever happened to dear old Lenny?
The great Elmyra, and Sancho Panza?
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?

Whatever happened to all the heroes?
All the Shakespearoes?
They watched their Rome burn
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?

No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more

Whatever happened to all the heroes?
All the Shakespearoes?
They watched their Rome burn
Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?

No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more

Is this an urgeok original? Nice repetition on the ending: nice emphasis for the dramatic effect. :)

Here's another one you won't know:

Out of the ruins
out from the wreckage

Can't make the same mistakes this time.
We are the children
the last generation

We are the ones they lefl behind.
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it

Living under the fear till nothing else remains.

We don't need another hero

We don't need to know the way home

All we want is life beyond the thunderdome.

Looking for something we can rely on

There's got to be something better out there.
Love and compassion
their day is coming

All else are castles built in the air
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it

Living under the fear till nothing else remains.
All the children say:
We don't need another hero
. . .

So what do we do with our lives? We leave only a mark.
Will our story shine like a light or end in the dark?
Is it all or nothing?

We don't need another hero
. . .
All the children say:
We don't need another hero - we don't need another hero
. . .
