I just got an email back from the breeder: "Fare warning, our animals do not fare well alone without another animal be it a dog or another cat."

I found this rather odd. While dogs and ferrets are incredibly social and communal animals, I thought that cats were more independent and less needy.

It's not exactly in the Chrono budget to purchase more than one hairless kitty.

i've always had cats in pairs.

whenever i had just the one (before getting the second one) they really were clingy.

the last pair i had were brother and sister .. when one died - the other died less than a year later - i'm sure it was because the other one was gone.

booo

My childhood kitties, a boy and a girl, never really got along all that well together, so I didn't think that cats were that social.

So as it turns out, further email correspondence with the first hairless cat breeder that I contacted reveals that she is an absolute cunt. I will have to take my business elsewhere.

However...

A few months ago I was in contact with a Main Coon Cat breeder to purchase a kitten for my mom... And the litter has been delivered!

The breeder's website is here.

One of these blue beauties will be bestowed upon my mom sometime in the near future... I can't wait. :)

Now I'm in touch with this breeder.

They have itty bitty kitty babies - 1 week old. Just inquired about this one:

Adorable. :)

I miss cats! My husband is also allergic. Maybe someday we will look into getting a Sphynx someday. At the moment, we have a Jack Russell (Rascal) and a terrier mix(Cheyenne), One is completely insane and one is a total sweetheart, if just a tad obsessive.....:D

Oh my goodness, Jenna... They're beautiful. :)

Well, I'll let you know how being a Sphyx cat owner goes. They're high maintenance (and really really WEIRD looking), but it's SO worth it because I really really really want a cat. They're friendly - they'd probably get along with you r dogs. :)
