Actually the director said that he wanted to try and stay away from both the comic and the games as much as possible, that was his reason for the title Alien vs Predator and also why he put it in current time.

Humpf, maybe the chestburster from the end of AVP is going to to hide somewhere, grow into adult size and then get into a killing spree inside the Predator ship...

Further proof that he is a moron. he DID borrow from the comic (the whole predator/main character relationship, the fight with the queen, etc... blah) and none of the really good stuff. Paul Anderson suffers from "enthusiasm without talent", and really seems to lack enthusiasm. All of his shit is soulless.

borrowing from either the game or the comic direclty would have been a very good move, both have good stories. But then again, this is why most comic and ganme movies suck anyway, they usually have nothign to do with the actual original story. Whihc i dont understand, because it would actually be easier to simply adapt someoneelse's plot. they save you 80% of the grunt work...
