This one's tough for me. Cronos is a great movie but the plodding pace doesn't work as well for it as it does for some of Del Toro's other films while Ninja Scroll's storyline can be all over the place. I'm going to say Ninja Scroll, for the consistent visual flair and charm that it exudes while presenting a very mature film to moviegoers who, at the time, weren't used to such themes in a "cartoon".
