I watched "Quarantine 2" last night. A promising first act was kind of undone by predictable, formulaic story that followed. Shame.

The Lost Coast Tapes is found footage flick about bigfoot; boring & below average, avoid it. Red Lights comes with a great cast...De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy, Toby Jones & Elizabeth Olsen; offering a seemingly interesting plot that eventually (& bit frustratingly) turns into quite a simple one about a team of paranormal investigators Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) and her assistant Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy) facing a tough challenge against a world-renowned psychic Simon Silver (De Niro) who has resurfaced years after his toughest critic mysteriously passed away. I really wanted to like it (mainly for the cast) but it delivered nothing spectacular at the end. A decent but average & mildly entertaining thriller. |

Not seen this in since it came out and it stood the test of time well. Enjoyed it immensely. I think reviews kinda dismissed it as a Welsh Trainspotting but this definitely has an identity of its own. Rhys Ifans and his real life both play 'the twins' - 2 drug fuelled, joyriding delinquients who get up in a world of bent coppers, dognapping and karaoke. It has a great soundtrack too. |

Last night i watched the Avenger Assemble flic and felt deflated to be honest. It was a good film but way too long.Long parts of it were dull and not needed. When the action started i was a little bored of it.
Ok,but nothing to rave about. |

Though this slow-burn, low budget slasher (with some supernatural elements) offers a disappointing "to be continued" ending, but liked the way they treated genre's cliched "the night he came home" sort of theme with having almost zero onscreen killing/violence. The decent cast & its atmospheric tension driven approach actually kinda worked pretty well till the very end which surely will piss off many viewers. It all just needed another 5 to 10 minutes to reveal the 'twist' adequately & then could offer a hint for the sequel. Anyway, overall not bad. >>: B- Bait (2012) http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...idhdc/BAIT.jpg An okay time passing Shark flick. >>: C+ |
