Sad news...what a fine actress. She was stellar in Girl Interrupted. I hope it wasn't cocaine take took her. :(

It's really sad to know that such an young talented actress just passed away. Recently saw her in Deadline (2009). Rest In Piece.

Kim Peek, 58, from Cardiac arrest. Peek was the inspiration for Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man.

Well apparently her tox. report came back with no use of illegal substances, so that's good news I guess. I was so upset when the second anyone heard they were spreading rumours of drug use. I don't blame people for thinking that, when every celeb death is from cancer or drug related now days. Sometimes people die naturally, who knew?

I don't believe for one second she died of natural causes.

It was either drugs or an overmedication.

That's a shame, I watched a couple video's on him he's pretty inspiring. I guess we'll never be able to figure out how his brain worked now.

The Los Angeles Coroner's office has launched an investigation to determine who is responsible for leaking confidential documents regarding the death of actress Brittany Murphy.

The 32-year-old star died after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home on Sunday.

A confidential report obtained and released online by TMZ.com detailed notes written by the Coroner's office.

The documents, allegedly written by an official named as Investigator Blacklock, reveal Murphy "had been complaining of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain" for seven to 10 days prior to her death.

The documents also claim investigators found large amounts of prescription pills, including anti-seizure medication Topamax, Fluoxetine, which is used to treat depression, anti-anxiety medication Ativan, pain-reliever Vicoprofen and Propranolol, used to treat hypertension.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter admits he is "furious" over the leak, adding, "We don't normally release partial information. If partial information goes out, it of course makes us look bad. Everybody ought to get it at the same time."

Bosses at TMZ.com have declined to comment on how the report was obtained.

The cause of Murphy's death has been "deferred" pending toxicological results, although an autopsy on her body was completed on Monday. Officials previously stated they believe the star died from natural causes.

Arnold Stang, the actor who was blessed with the features of a classic nerd and the voice to go along with it -- attributes that brought him roles in hundreds of films, radio and TV shows, cartoons and commercials -- died Sunday in Newton, MA of pneumonia at age 91, his son David disclosed Monday.

Standing 5 foot 3 and weighing about 100 pounds, he once described himself as looking "like a frightened chipmunk who's been out in the rain too long." And indeed he often provided the voice of chipmunks and assorted runty creatures in cartoons and commercials. (He was the original Buzz Bee in the Honey Nut Cheerios commercials.)

In an interview with today's (Tuesday) New York Times, JoAnne Stang, his wife of 60 years, said: "He loved the cartoons, and he liked doing commercials, too. ... But most of all, he loved radio. It offered him such a span of roles."

Now, I don't understand much about the US and health care; but I'm assuming that the only reason celebs receive all these prescriptions is because they are the few people who can afford them all. It's a shame doctors get paid by the drug companies to give out so many drugs, otherwise I don't think this would happen nearly as often.
However, there's no way of knowing yet if that's what killed her. A lot of people (including a friend of mine) take a combination of those drugs for depression and anxiety, and they're not dead. It just seems to me that those are pretty run of the mill drugs. If she was on drugs for hypertension, that pretty much explains where the real issue was. Anyone with high blood pressure has a shortened life expectancy, and she might have very well died sooner if she wasn't on even one of these drugs.

On another note: wtf is with Harvey Levin (TMZ's creator)? He was a lawyer, and quit his job because he saw other lawyers being corrupt and immoral. Now he runs a business to slander celebrities, and obtains information illegally? I'll admit I watch the show, and even visit the website at times (Eli Roth playing "Jew, not a jew" and giving anecdotes about his life was hilarious btw) but great morals right there.
