Nice acting and nice depth in both Damme and Adkins characters. The story was alright as well, but concidering the team-up of the old kick-ass star and the new kick-ass star this movie contained disappointingly little ass kicking. It was more like Dammes "Until death".

Got that one sitting here but haven't got round to watching it. Bit bummed to hear it lacks in the ass kicking department.

I know right.

Maybe Van Damme just can't kick anymore. He does seem kinda old.

"Red state" 8/10

MESSAGE!!!

I was very surprised to see Kevin Smith was behind this one. This movie was pretty raw and contained no humor whatsoeever. Guess he has moved on.

Good for you Kevin. Good for you.

I really wanted to like this but i just found it incredibly dull. The "scary" scenes fell flat and i was ultimately disappointed.

"The Last Exorcism" (2010)
Plot: IMDB
In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the evangelical Reverend Cotton Marcus was raised by his father to be a preacher. He agrees that the filmmaker Iris Reisen and the cameraman Daniel Moskowitz make a documentary about his life. Cotton tells that when his wife Shanna Marcus had troubles in the delivery of their son Justin, he prioritized the doctor help to God and since then he questions his faith. Further, he tells that exorcisms are frauds but the results are good for the believers because they believe it is true. When Cotton is summoned by the farmer Louis Sweetzer to perform an exorcism in his daughter Nell, Cotton sees the chance to prove to the documentary crew what he has just told. They head to Ivanwood and they have a hostile reception from Louis's son Caleb. Cotton performs the exorcism in Nell, exposing his tricks to the camera, but sooner they learn that the dysfunctional Sweetzer family has serious problems.

Phantom's review: Some of these documentary/Lost footage style movies are quite good ("Cloverfield", "rec") and some are a major pile of crap.
Unfortunately "The Last Exorcism" falls into the second category. While the acting is good, this film goes nowhere fast. Absolutely no scares or suspense and a terribly anti-climatic ending. A total waste of time.

Yea, maybe that chapter in his life is over and a new one has begun.

Liked the movie but don't expect from him those ass-kicking anymore. I don't know what's the last film where he at least show some moves. I think he'll appear with similar kinda approach in Expendables 2....an old tough guy with guns.
