Henry Fool (1997). This is a story of a whirlwind force of character that blusters in and transmogrifies a community for both good and bad. In doing so, the essence of the neighborhood is somehow brought to engender the truth of being, and to simply live life through experience, eschewing society's rules of proper conduct. In doing so, a caricatured world is created that seems pleasantly larger than life in order to express some greater deed. The result is brilliant. The characters are quirky and disturbingly fun, largely unbelievable and yet endearing in a unique fashion. The dialog was memorably sensational, with Henry Fool leading the pack with his celebrated utterances. The direction was the culmination of Hal Hartley's greater experience rolled up into one amazing flick. AS well, the camera man was unobtrusively masterful, using the tricks of the trade with subtle wit. Both painfully direct and wickedly humorous, Henry Fool ends with the same symbolic mastery of his awe-inspiring entrance. Merci beaucoup.

Snuff: A Documentary About Killing on Camera: Somewhat interesting. Overall it didn't seem to bring too much new to the plate though. Mainly talking heads saying why they do or do not believe snuff exists. I did find it odd that even though they showed a few clips from Guinea Pig, they never actually mentioned Charlie sheen contacting the FBI about it. I found most of it to be mediocre at best, except for Mark L. Rosen's account of being presented a snuff film for possible distribution. His obvious emotion should cast aside any naive doubters when it comes to the question of whether or not snuff actually exists.
Isolation: Genetic experimentation goes horribly wrong on an isolated Irish dairy farm. Quite obviously preying on the fears of genetically modified foods this made for an alright movie. Nothing special, a fairly silly looking creature, and a painfully obvious ending made for an enjoyable enough movie. |

Elvis, if you havent seen this one yet, check it out, total riot. Dude runs around with ridiculous face paint and a live snake around his neck. Synopsis: When a drug dealer's assassin guns down his best friend and fellow policeman Lee (Robert Kim), troubled war-vet-turned-rogue-cop John Steele (Martin Kove) sets out for revenge -- only to discover the shooter is the son of an old enemy from his days in 'Nam. Now Steele breaks out the heavy artillery and takes the hurt straight to the gang leader's doorstep in this campy film cast in the mold of classic 1980s-era action-thrillers. |

"The Left Handed Gun" (1958)
-Paul Newman Plot: IMDB William Bonney - Billy the Kid - gets a job with a cattleman known as 'The Englishman,' and is befriended by the peaceful, religious man. But when a crooked sheriff and his men murder the Englishman because he plans to supply the local Army fort with his beef, Billy decides to avenge the death by killing the four men responsible, throwing the lives of everyone around him - Tom and Charlie, two hands he worked with; Pat Garrett, who is about to be married; and the kindly Mexican couple who take him in when he's in trouble - into turmoil, and endangering the General Amnesty set up by Governor Wallace to bring peace to the New Mexico Territory. Phantom's Review: Like most "True" stories, this film is about a spoonful of truth mixed with a barrel full of fiction. Things like the fact that Newman was 33 when he made this film or the fact that Billy was really right handed. But despite that and a few other things, this is actually a pretty good film. Newman (as usual) does a great job and the story is fun. Skip it if your into historical accuracy, but if you want to watch a good western, then enjoy |
Just finished watching Charlton Heston's The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston and co staring Anthony Zerbe and Rosalind Cash. Classic movie, love it. like the oridginal concept for I Am Legend, but way better in my opinion. 7.9 out of 10.

I saw this movie called "Live Animals" I got in a dvd pack yesterday, it's ok. It's pretty creepy but kinda slow. It's about this guy who kidnaps these 20 somethings and keeps them caged up like horses and tries to "break them".
