I like the way you never really know what is going on, you can draw your own conclusions, otherwise a pretty typical Haneke flick.

I can't believe I got bored with a Lars Von Trier movie, I only got half way through before I coudn't be bothered anymore. I hope the ending was good, but I will never know.

Great cheesy fun from Brian Trenchard-Smith, it's as the title sugest, stunts and rock 'n' roll!

The ending, with a memorable line by Defoe, was epic. I too thought that this movie was a rare Lars tragedy but stuck with it. IMNSHO the movie switched gears sorta late in the game but to great effect.

Un prophete (2009). With all of the usual suspects present for a typical prison drama, it is hard to believe that this flick could find a sprig of originality. Instead, this incredible French drama creates a patulous world of its own with which to succor in the viewer with its visual buffet. A gritty coming of age story, the central character is clay with which society's dregs gets a free hand to mold. The surprise is that the hardened statute of iniquitous art has become a dichotomy between humanity and shrewd duplicity. The story was wonderful, blending a tale of incarceration with an eerie, almost hallucinogenic sideline of one's conscience. The direction was sublime, and the camera work was impressive without being obtrusive. Clocking in at around 150 minutes, not a second is wasted, leaving the viewer wanting more but satisfied, especially with that almost incongruous yet touching ending.
