i didnt see any resemblance to Basic Instinct at all really - no more than any thriller -

i liked the gritty feel to it - reminds me of 70's movies - the closest thing america has come to Giallo actually ..at least in the last 30 years.

i enjoyed it - but not as much as Quartermass and the Pit which was completely insane ..

Just watched the film Mean Streets last night, its Martin Scorsese's first masterpiece, and it kicks so much ass. It stars Harvey Keitel and Robert De Nero among others, and it is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Five stars all the way, go out and see it now.
