Question. Is there a way I can type in the name of a movie and and see other poster's reviews on it? ::confused::

Not really. Closest you would get is to search for the movie and see if there is a specific thread, then you can take a look at what other people have thought about the movie. If there isn't a dedicated thread to the movie then start one up and people will chime in.... If its a specific poster's opinion you are after then you can go to the advanced search options and type in the movie name and type in the name of the person you are after. That's all I got, maybe someone smarter knows a better way though. ::cool::

Thanks Straker. Sometimes if I watch an older or more obscure movie, I'm curious to see what other people might have thought of it. Say I could type in "Nightbreed" and have 4 or 5 previous posts related to that title appear. And you're well right, I could just start a specific thread if I was really curious.

Speaking of Black Friday, I had a great one (albeit not shopping early on Thanksgiving so missing half the stuff I wanted to pick up)... until the mall. The mall was a madhouse, I've went every year for over 6 years now I think and have never seen the place so bad. The biggest problem? The parking lot. We were stuck trying to leave for 2 hours and much of that was caused by idiots trying to turn down the wrong lanes, pulling out in front of people, and generally panicking and sitting there confused as people behind them honk and yell out their windows. No mall for me on BF next year.

horcrux2007 11-28-2014 09:13 PM

That's why I buy stuff online.

I just like be out with friends, people watching, and maybe running across something I might not have thought to buy because I didn't know about it. I shop online a lot too but sometimes I just gotta' browse.

I skip Black Friday at all costs....I don't have the patience for rude or stupid people!!!!!!!!!! ::mad::

I went to WalMart and our local farmer's market yesterday - both stores were almost empty. I was shocked!

Straker 11-29-2014 03:47 AM

This is the first year that I can remember that Britain has got into the whole Black Friday thing. The media really hyped it up over here then filled our TV screens with images of us all behaving like rabid animals fighting over scraps of food. I, meanwhile, had a lazy Friday filled with good food and a few beer. I highly recommend it. ::cool::

I saw that William Friedkin tweeted that The Babadook is the scariest movie he's seen. I need to watch this now!

rachMiel 12-04-2014 10:35 AM

I saw it and found it compelling and dark ... but not really all that scary.

I saw the trailer just today, and I thought it was scary as hell. Imma watch it tonight.

It's on my list. Waiting for rental. I don't tend to see horror at the theatre these days, mostly cause none of my friends are interested in that combo.

It had been years and years since a movie scared me, & that was this year seeing Dead Silence. It'll be cool if Babadook delivers.

That's true, but like physical attractiveness, large data sampling (surveying) has proven there's 'vast majority' results to be found... like Grace Kelly & the Exorcist. ::wink::

Our minds are heavily conditioned to perceive the world similarly. But there's still a ton of variety in how individual minds react to the same stimuli. Yes? Grace Kelly: attractive, roger that. The Exorcist scary, roger that. But ... I was just talking to a young woman yesterday who only got scared in two scenes of The Exorcist, but found the Babadook really scary!

Definitely, lot's of variation in perception on pretty much everything, even ingested substances. I was just talking about when actual social science experimentation displays a vast majority of people concurring on shared stimuli.

A young woman, you say? Say, rachMiel, are you a male or female? My mind guessed your name was Rachel.

Maybe they're a gift from someone who doesn't live there. If they were gutted, maybe they're 'meat hanging' (done for flavor and tenderizing).

For real? That's demented. Little kids could see that.

Dead Bad Things 12-12-2014 04:46 AM

There's plenty of better tastin' wild game 'round these parts like whitetail and bear. I think it was an ignorant joke. They took it down cuz it was on a school bus route. Ahh rural livin'...... Preserve Wildlife!

You act as if you live near me, considering it's a chain store.
