That's why I said I'm glad it wasn't just "Mirrors 3". I didn't like Mirrors because that was so tonally inconsistent. How did the two storylines make it "hard to connect to the characters"?

Dude I was agreeing with you on the mirrors thing damn. Relax.

The story jumped around and instead of building a good story and characters they threw both at you and then let flashbacks tell the story. I couldn't connect because of that.

No one's excited.

The story jumped back in forth because the mirror is supposed to cause hallucinations that manipulate time and space. It also shows why Kaylee was so obsessed with destroying the mirror and how it affected both of their lives. Had it just shown one timeline, it probably would have been a pretty generic movie.

Annabelle

This was painfully unoriginal, had bad acting, directing, writing, and cinematography, and the priest character was extremely unnecessary, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. It had a lot of effective tension accented by its good scares, and I liked how it was set in 1968.

7/10 for entertainment
3/10 for quality

I can't give one rating because I feel like this was a guilty pleasure of mine, and sometimes, I just need some dumb horror.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about setting up the plot and characters instead of just throwing us headfirst into without an explanation.

O think this is a very fair review, I found it held tension very well but failed to deliver the punches to go with it.

That's what the past timeline was doing. That was the explanation.

As Above/So Below

Second time I've seen this. Trippy, scary, and really interesting. Best found footage film since Paranormal Activity.

8/10
