Brilliant. Really clever concept and I loved the dark humor. Haven't read the comics before so I don't know how it holds up in that respect. Up there with Sin City and Watchmen for me.

The comic is good, but pretty different. The cool thing is the script and comic were actually developed together, and each one was tailored to the medium.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

Entertaining for sure, but like everyone else has already mentioned, not as fresh as the first one. Be sure to stay after the credits (of course), which incidentally are unbelievably long.

Man on Wire

Documentary about Phillipe Petit, who walked on a wire strung between the World Trade Center towers in 1974.

In comprehensible to me- I hate riding in glass walled elevators.

Which One?

Last seen:
Leon: The Professional (1994) Luc Besson's work here is a beautifully woven cloth of intricate scenes that are nevertheless appreciated with ease. The story is fairly fresh, with some rather daring moments of artful sensuality. That said, it was the acting which took this flick to the next level. Young Natalie Portman is sublime, and Jean Reno's performance helped to create an intense chemistry between the two. Gary Oldman's performance takes the cake though. In simple terms, his character was splendidly despicable. Every element of film-making comes together in this one to make for an incredible movie that should entertain any audience. Ashe.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration: I thought it was OK. Plenty of action to hide the poor plot and total lack of creativity. I would've liked to have seen alot more of Dolph Lundgren and had them centre the story more around Van Damme & Lungren's characters. Thought it could've been better, but it was what it was, mediocre straight to DvD action.

Makes one seriously wonder that with such fresh ideas still brimming about, why don't they get the attention they deserve? Fantastic little entertainer, although for some viewers it might feel like it drags in some parts. What a solid ending too. The genre is alive and well, and needs more of such films.

A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

Nowhere near as bad as everyone's making out. I really dug how dark the film was in tone (almost similar to New Nightmare stylistically). Thought the new Nancy was cool. The new Freddy oozed sleaze in a couple of scenes and I liked how his burnt face looked. Englund's Krueger is really iconic to me so there's no way his version of Freddy will be topped for me but I thought they did ok at creating a new vision of Freddy. Somewhere in between the first two flicks and New Nightmare look/characterwise but with a more subtle menace to him. People have basically already made up their minds to slam this one before they've seen it but go into it with an open mind and see for yourself.
Guess it's to early for word on a sequel but I'd definitely check it out because I want to see where they go with the character. Exceeded my expectations and it's totally worth a watch.
