In 1961 Arthu.r C. Clarke, author of 2001, witnessed an amazing thing: a computer sang a song. What did it sing? Daisy, of course, inspiring Clarke to use the song in 2001 when Dave shuts HAL 9000 down, giving the film perhaps it's most poignant moment, as HAL begs for his life...
