"Alice" (1988) 4/10
Sorry, Doc Faustus. I really didn't like it. |
Was home this weekend, so finally got to watch some Netflix:
Paranormal Activity Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant Whiteout Liked Paranormal Activity, there was a scene or two that actually scared me. Loved Cirque du Freak Disappointed in Whiteout, thought it was boring |

Undead or Alive
That was just shit, apart from the hot indian girl, it was a waste of time. I thought there would have been a few laughs but noooo. 2/10 Trailer Park of Terror This had some good gore and an ok take on the redneck horror, but it didn't really explain itself, it just didn't make sense. Still it was a ok zombie fun. 6/10 The Ghastly ones It started of awesome, then for about 40 or 50 minutes you just have to put up with bad acting and nothing much happening. Then it all kicks off again. Obviously it is very low budget, but that doesn't mean you have to be boring. The gore was good when it came, but overall it was hard to sit through without, wait for it. yes, being bored. 5/10 The Sex Killer This is one wierd movie, the soundtrack seems like it is a broken record, there is hardly any dialogue at all. The central character is played reasonably well as he slowly decends into depression and madness. Definatley worth checking out. 7.5/10 Dance of the dead I was really let down by this, I'm a bit over zombie movies of late that try to hard for the humor because they just don't seem to do it very well. 4/10 The night strangler I loved this, the style, the story, the acting, I definatley need to track down the tv series it was based on. 7/10 |

Dogville (2003). Move over Sword of Doom and Double Suicide, for i have a new fav. This movie was that good, that dark. Not for those that are impatient or hate originality in a movie, Dogville hangs its hat on impressive acting, incredible storytelling, and some pretty great dialogue. Oh, and there may have been some absolutely brilliant camera work in there somewhere as well. Not a happy happy joy joy flick, this exploration of human nature will likely leave you emotionally exhausted, drained really, and a little less likely to fall for the next act of altruism that comes your way. This wonderfully dark flick perfectly expounds upon man's exploitative nature, especially when someone has something over another individual. Who hasn't used a tidbit of info over another to exact what they want? The acting was superb, with Nicole Kidman of course being astounding. She was in good company. The story and direction was magnificent-thank you Lars. Merci beaucoup.

Right now actually, I am watching Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...een4poster.jpg it's one of my favorite Old-school Halloween films. I also liked the original movie by John Carpenter Halloween (1978) |

It started out really well. It was really creepy and disturbing the way he was obsessed with the family, but I felt the movie fell apart in the last half. |
