Good idea! I should have watched a movie like that instead of starting the BBC Robin Hood series (although that series is damn good I'm coming to find out).

Paranormal Activity.

I liked this a lot. The ending didn't bother me.

The Collector (2009)

Wow! Another pretty good entry for the genre from last year. Yes..there was also a killer who comes with some nice deadly traps and the whole package comes from the makers of Saw 4, 5 & 6 but still it has a legitimate amount of originality that I think can satisfy the genre fans.
And of course there are some flaws (for example how'd & when the killer managed time to set up all these traps inside the house?), but that doesn’t threat the overall entertainment going on in that dark & claustrophobic situation. Decent direction fairly copes with the good tuned soundtrack that intensifies the scares also.

Recommended.

Gone In 60 Seconds

Nothing really tops Vanishing Point for this kinda shit but I dug it and thought the chase scene was dope.

"Carriers" 4/10

A "Cabin Fever" road movie. And not a good one.

Thanks for the reminder. Rue Morgue Magazine said it was pretty good too. Added it to my Netflix queue, but it doesn't come out until April. I'll be looking forward to it.

Rob Zombie's Halloween II

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ash_poster.jpg

So the movie starts just as the original: In the hospital right after IT happened. Laurie's alone and stumbling around with a broken leg... And of course Michael Myers shows up...

Those first 15 minutes or so are absolutely brilliant - Horrifying, gripping - great suspense and fantastic gore. An absolute boon for slasher fans...

...

But then the rest of the movie happens. I found Zombie's "examination" into Michael's psyche to be unnecessary and silly and just an excuse to put his wife on screen again. I thought that her role and purpose were laughable and took away from the sheer HORROR that should be this film. His evolution of Loomis to be an egomaniacle famehound was interesting, but too much of a deviation from the Loomis that I know and love.

Too boring. Not enough suspense. Not enough gore. Unnecessary imagery into Michael. All-in-all an unnecessary film. It's a shame; those first 15 minutes almost convinced me that this movie was going to be incredible. Sigh. Just stick to the blood and guts, Rob.

Yes Man

Surprisingly cute and charming. Surprisingly enjoyable. And I think that Zooey Deschanel is absolutely stunning.

Moon

Another odd surprise. After seeing the previews for this film, I was definitely uncertain about it. It looked like a self-indulgent 2001 wannabe that was going to try to capture faux-philosophy...

At first I thought I was going to be right; the movie starts slow and deliberately and I was concerned especially about Kevin Spacey's robot GERDY just seemed like a watered-down HAL... But Moon pleasantly surprised me. It turned out to be more of a character piece than pseudo-philosophy... And Sam Rockwell is absolutely brilliant.

Highly recommended, especially for scifi fans.

Infestation

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ion-poster.jpg

An absolutely brilliant low-budget creature feature romp. They definitely got a lot out of what was obviously a tight budget. The special effects looked pretty good, and the writing and acting were great. I had a blast with this. If you enjoy movies like Eight Legged Freaks or Slither, you'll enjoy this one. Plus, Ray Wise makes an appearance, which is awesome.

HIGHLY recommended.

Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning

I love this trilogy. Absolutely brilliant werewolf films. The third one isn't as good as the first two, but still definitely enjoyable. These movies are way too underrated.

3.5/5.

Jim Carrey wasn't tho. Quite forgettable.

Didn't enjoy that one.

Feels like Carrey has gotten tired of his own (overacting) characters.
