Crank 2: High Voltage (2009). An unnecessary remake, they shoulda quit while they were ahead (i really enjoyed the first one)
Sad to say I agree. I mean while I didn't hate it, and thought the "more" sci-fi element towards the end was kind of interesting, I found I wasn't overall as entertained. The first one, I went and bought as soon as I possibly could, something I haven't done since Shaun of the Dead.
The second one, just felt like...a game expansion pack?
Though perhaps if they worked on a storyline, and a less specific form of "energy generation" (hm...general Pain?) they could make the sequel they should have...probably beyond hope now though.

Is that meant to be a dig at me? It'd be nice if you could type one sentence with out coming across like a fucking prick.
Ha, 'cos you're Australian looking...

Blue Velvet (1986). This Lynch classic definitely deserves to be a classic. Though i probably need a couple more viewings to get most of the symbolism, i went away with enough of an understanding to be appropriately disturbed. Dennis Hopper definitely owns his psychotic role here, but it was well acted throughout. The scene with Dean Stockwell lip singin Roy Orbison's In Dreams was majestic. Great stuff. Ashe.
derek

Never seen this one, though nobody seems to have much of a bad word about it...will add this to my "to watch" list, along with....
(still) Suspiria, Fargo, ANY "the shining", Jacobs ladder, 2001, Razorback, Rocky 1, 2, 3, 5, rosemarys baby, a simple plan, Heat, no country for old men, the andromeda strain, strangers on a train, Mad Max 2&3, any death wish films, Halloween: night of the witch, any psycho sequels...I got plenty...

Saw some bits and pieces of the original NOTLD, pretty good background flick to have on.

Just finished watching Mary and Max...bit difficult to sum it up really, kind of sad little film centered around a couple of slightly broken characters...with moments of happiness sprinkled throughout great humour and interesting perspectives on life regardless of "reason".
On the whole though, this one exceeded my expectations by far.
